Do you think the brand of patch you use makes a difference? I'm using NicQuitin at the minute but just seen an offer on nicotinell patches, both are 21mg - do you think it would make a difference if I switched to these?

Yeah suppose! It's so true! I would have normally smoked menthols but if there were ordinary ones and I was gasping I would have still smoked one even though I didn't prefer them!
Thanks Gemma! I was thinking about trying gum to using lozenges at the minute! Have you tried both? If so, is there a difference between them?
You're very welcome!!
I've tried lozenges but they give me a really sore throat so haven't used them much  but I find the gum more satisfying anyway 'cos it gives me something to do with my mouth if that makes sense?
If you go for gum, the Freshfruit and Icy White ones are the nicest IMO - the standard ones can taste pretty evil!!
I swap and change whatever patch is on offer. If they are 24 hr i remove at 7pm.Im on 7mg atm and then I have 10mg that I will cut in half.I like to start pretty low as I dont like to stay on nrt too long.
Its physcological for me after that.
Today has been uneventful so far.
As for gum its hard to get but Trebor extra strong is my fav I buy it at the garage...........give it a try......
I prefer the nicorette invisipatch. It's definitely the stickiest I've used, I had aggro with others when showering or exercising. If I need anything extra for bad cravings I use the nicorette quickmist spray. It can give me hiccups but the trick is not to swallow for a couple of minutes after using it.
I didn't get on with 24 hour patches at all, caused me sleep problems. I suppose its just trial and error to find out what works for you.
If you want to save money on NRT it's worth going to a Tesco pharmacy and signing up with their quit program. For the price of 3 prescription charges you can have 8 weeks supply of patches and they do a Co2 test on each of your 3 visits.
