Im on the 10 mg patches now.. Some days they seem fine.. But other days like today iv put it in and it's made me feel a bit sick arm hurts. Really thirsty and makes me feel strange.. Took it off and iv got really angry red arch again.. No matter wot strength patch Iv had this happens at lest once a week.. I'm thinking maybe it's my body telling me I don't need um anymore or less than I should now.. Wot do you guys think or as this happend to any other patch users..

I know a lot of people are allergic to them and if you waft them around before you put them on that supposedly stops the irritation. Although maybe you are right and you dont need them anymore?

Think I might try leaving them off for a few days and just use my gum.. Or maybe cutting them up

It's a strange feeling.. It's like I can feel the nicotine entering my system and my body is not having it.. so I go shacky and very thirst. But only happens once or twice a week

Sounds a bit like overdosing doesn't it? Try cutting them in half? I know you are not supposed to but I am not sure why not. If you have the gum do you think you could just manage with that? You could also try the lozenges because at least with these things you would only use them when you have a craving and ditch the patches all together.

Good for you well done! I know its horrible feeling crappy like that but it wont last long and you will be feeling great! What are you doing today? Are you going out anywhere or doing a Sunday lunch? I find keeping busy is best for taking my mind off how I am feeling. I am just cleaning the house today and getting all my washing done I have a week off work so I will be out everyday. Being on holiday is a trigger for me but I am overcoming it so I know how you feel.

No not doing much I am cooking later tho but not a Sunday dinner.. Was gonna get me garden done as need get rid ov the green miss on me path but it's now raining.. So just gonba chill out and watch DVDs today.. And maybe do some drawing later with me new pens.. I'm glad iv came off the patches as I probly find it harder to stop them the more I use them.. To me it seems like I will be quitting twice.. My dad and bro in law have done the 12 weeks with the nurse and they both bin smoking again as with not having the patch anymore.

Sounds like a nice day! It isnt raining here at the mo it is sunny! I bought some plants for my garden from b&q yesterday will plant them in the week. Gardening was also a trigger for me and cleaning the house but they are not anymore so you can overcome these feelings. It is complicated this quitting lark dont you think? Hope you have a nice day wish I lived near you I would take you out for lunch and try and make you feel better.:)

It's very complicated.. It's got be one of the good but worse things iv done.. If u no wot I mean. I have good days and bad days. I only started gardening after I quit. Didn't bother with it at all with it only being a yard as I live in a terrist house. But bin buying patio plants. It's a good size garden tho. So thinking about doing sum photoes in the big pots got a new garden hose yesterday so dying to use it and some path cleaner. Lol.

Hi Shelly

I had to come off the patches after two weeks because I was allergic to them. I was really worried at the time but just thought I'd have to come off them eventually anyway. I used the odd mini lozenger now and again but to be honest not often as they were pretty disgusting.

I haven't been using anything now for about 3 months and apart from the odd trigger I've been fine and I'm sure you will be too:D the hardest part is over.

Hi Haze, I also bought some plants last week hoping it might kick start the summer:rolleyes:

I had a few cravings during and after planting. Strange isn't it that it happens every time you do something you haven't done since quitting.

Bring it on I say:p

Hi MAgs, I know it is strange I get triggers at the strangest times but gardening and cleaning were the worst. It happens more than I would like it to however I am going to take the plunge like you said I should, and book for Ibiza in September. I am going with my sister who smokes but I am going to do it and get it out of the way we have to face our demons. Yes bring it on as you say!:)

Have agreat day Mags.xx

Hi Shelly, I'm cutting down to 7mg patches tomorrow and I'll use them for 4 days then stop. I hate the smell of them and I swear everything I eat, except chocolate, tastes of fish glue. I'm sure the patches are causing it. I haven't got the courage to come straight off them. Not because of craves but because I get very edgy. I'm 5 weeks today so not far behind you.

I also get very edgy my self.. It's the worse side affect for me and iv felt it really bad today.. but it's gonba happen no matter when I come off um just want get it out the way. Just hope it ain't gonna be like when I first stopped smoking as I had the worst anxiety attacks were I couldn't go out. Felt like tipping me self of a bridge at one point it was that bad. :(

I know how you felt. I tried to go CT and managed nearly 3 days then had to put on a patch. Doesn't seem so bad cutting down using half the patches as well. I haven't really had very edgy moments. I don't have any cravings at all so it will probably just be any new trigger points when I finally stop the patches in a week's time.

Hiya Shelly, this is all just symptoms of your body going through nicotine withdrawal (from the patches) after 3 or 4 days you will feel better again. I'd stay off the patches now or you'll just be putting the nicotine back in...

Keep going, you are doing so well, 3 months is amazing :)
