Day 8....week 2!!! :)

Yay!! I've made it into week 2! I am so happy about this! I never thought it would have been possible when I was a smoker!!

I've surprised myself at how much I've not needed to smoke this weekend and how well I've been doing! My partner and I have both decided that every month we've stopped, the money we would have spent will be getting saved in a tin for either our holiday or mortgage! :D

I hope that bossdean and tryingveryhard are keeping up their good work and are here on day 8 with me!!

I'm still a bit grumpy but in a way I think that's just me! Haha. Roll on double figures, soon enough we will forget how many days its been and just guess! Lol.

I'm glad I don't need to go out in this weather....it's a white out up here at the moment!!

Thanks Gemma! I didn't think to begin with that I could but I'm so happy that I have and can do it!

I can't say I've been craving one, I just have that "lost" feeling people have been speaking about.

I was thinking about it and by the start of April, we will have about £1k....it's shocking when you think about it!!

It's a fab feeling isn't it? And you're so much more free now you're not limited by where you can smoke and stuff!!

Know exactly what you mean with the "lost" feeling - you've been smoking since you were 14 (I think?) I have since 16 so it's a huge chunk of life with that routine and telling yourself that a fag makes things better etc. It does take time to unlearn it!!

Have got it into my head now that I don't *need* a fag, just want one and that's getting weaker now :D I'm pleased that even though a few things have been winding me up at work today, I'm not tempted to go out for a smoke - did need a bit of gum though or I'd be evil to work with

Having £1k in your bank for a holiday or your mortgage is brilliant - and it's all free money too! Have been spending my fag money on clothes and shoes but maybe I'll grow up and save it one day ;)

    Keep going!!

  • I have made it here with you babs, been a strange experience but very fulfilling...its quite nice here isnt it??

I know exactly what you are saying Gemma. I don't need to clock watch for going out for my fags at work etc. I started when I was 14/15. I know that I don't *need* a fag, I just feel I want one to occupy myself when I'm bored!

Today has just been a long day and a lot of things are annoying me at the moment.....eg the amount of people in the office moaning about the snow and hoping it doesn't get worse etc....this is the NE of Scotland, we get snow every year - deal with it! AHHH!! Lol.

I would be spending my fag money on clothes and shoes but me and my partner are living at my parents just now and it's a tight squeeze with 5 of us in the house!

Babs I just realised we literally gave up at exactly the same time! pretty much to the minute, my last was 10pm on the sunday as well!! Spooky!!

  • Donna, I'm waiting for you to catch me up! Haha!!

Tryingveryhard, 10pm was bedtime so was having my last fag of the day but it was actually my last one ever!! Haha.

  • Babs .. I should have noticed and said that you are in a little trio of one week done .. bossdean and tryinghard are also on the same timeline as you !

Donna ( Am I the only one on day 6 at the mo ???) :D

  • I'm sure your not the only one on day 6! However if you are, you've got us to help you through it! :)

I've had a serious case of the munchies today! Eating everything in sight....think I'm trying to eat more healthily!!

  • Well done :)

You are all doing great, i'm on day 14 after smoking for 42 yrs! if i can do this so can you i promise ya.

You all sound so positive & that is half the battle i think. Coming on here will help more than you can imagine, the encouragement & support you will recieve is great.

We should all be really proud of ourselves...good luck on your journey, meet you all in the penthouse :D

  • Thanks Trudy! I'm so chuffed I've finished week 1! Didn't think I would get here! Just need to stay positive and going forward!

    Babs x

  • you can do it because you have the right attitude...it's all good.

    Well done, stay strong :)

  • Hi Babs and Trudy and well done Trudy on day 14 ! Still seems a long way off for me and I'm wondering when my early days euphoria will wear off.

Haven't really had an attack of the munchies yet but I'm hardly drinking any wine at the moment as if I do I immediately start thinking of having a smoke to go with it.

My only downside symptom is that I feel very bloated so I'm hoping that soon passes otherwise I'll be wearing jogging bottoms to work

    Keep posting !

Donna .. wearing comfy pjyamas :D

  • I weighed myself this morning and I've put on a few lbs since the last time but that was before Xmas so I'm not blaming the smoking yet!! Lol. I had my first 2 glasses of wine on Saturday night and didn't get any cravings so I was happy!! I've a night out in a few weeks so that'll be a big test for me!!

I've been in my comfy jammies since I got home from work 3 hours ago! There's nothing else for it! :)

  • My bowels (nice :) ) have been all over the place, think it's all part & parcel. As for the days, they seem to fly by, cant believe i've reached day 14 already.

onwards & upwards, stay positive & spend your extra cash on more joggers lol ;)

    So have I!!

Have been terrible today, and couldn't drink loads of water at work

I need to start taking healthy snacks with me 'cos pink wafers aren't going to do me any good!!

  • oooh Hi Gemma -lou ... pink wafers sound lovely, haven't tried one of those since buying them for the kids when they were younger. Save one for me !!

Babs I had a night out on day 3 !! but opted to drive to maker it easier, albeit more boring for myself. I know though that I can't do taxi duties for ever so will have to bite the bullet soon and enjoy a night out with wine and no ciggies

Trudy .. buying more jogging bottoms will not be an option for me , I will buy more shoes .. unless of course my feet get fatter !

    pyjamas for ever

    Donna :D

    Hi Nonny :)

I hadn't seen them for ages so bought loads when I saw them a while ago!! :D

I've managed to go out and drink without giving in, it's a bit tough but in a way it's good to see my smoker friends going out in the cold while I stay indoors in the warm with the other non-smokers!! Alcohol does still give me a craving though.

What is shocking though is seeing how often they go out for a fag and knowing you'd be joining them every time if you still smoked
