Since giving up yesterday (smoking and nicotine) ive had bad, constant migranes, and feeling alot of pressure around my eyes, nose and gums and really really tired. It feels like a bad hangover but ive not drunk since Xmas.

are these side effects of giving up? I thought it may have something to do with blood pressure... is this normal?, is there any way to combat it. Painkillers arent working.

Morning Kiddo

It all sounds perfectly normal to me.

I went CT for a few days very early in my quit before moving to NRT.

Whilst I was “in the CT zone” it was like a massive free p*ss up!

I mean I was pretty much out of it the whole time!

In work I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing most of the time. Head was booming, light headed, dizzy, no concentration….some can handle it well, enjoy it even.

I had to step back for a while and use the NRT to reduce my symptoms. Now beginning to think of coming off the NRT altogether.

If you can handle it then stick with it, it will get better for you soon. Try to let it wash over you. :)

CT can be the best and cheapest way to quit but it’s not for everyone.

Wishing you all the strength for your quit

Well done deciding to do it

Take care

Greg

Yes, this seems similar to what I experienced. It does get better and the symptoms get less and less and the nicotine leaves your system.

I'm at day 4 and most of those symptoms have gone.

I'm pretty restless aswell.

Im finding drinking water is helping though, it beats smoking and is actually good for you. :)

Never challenge your decision to quit. Every cig you smoke makes you more addicted which makes it harder tommorow to quiet as oposed to today.

You are not giving anything up. You only have something to gain.

Good luck Bro,

Mr Ward

Could well be all the crap clogging up your sinuses starting to shift. Or it could just be bad luck and a bit of a cold bug you have picked up.

It's amazing how your body struggles to deal with nicotine, tar and all the other chemicals in cigarettes - and then when you stop it just needs time to readjust. It will get better - I promise - and it is probably just a sign that your body is being allowed to fight back and get itself well.

Hope you feel better soon (a combo of paracetamol, ibuprofen and Sudafed might help).
