Thankfully day 3 cold turkey is nearly over, it's been really tough today, work was crap, couldn't concentrate, had a bad headache and wanted to kill everyone that spoke to me!
Anyway feeling a bit better now, done some exercise and had a healthy dinner, just hope I sleep better tonight.
That brings me to my question - has anyone experienced or heard of anyone experiencing twitching when stopping smoking (when you feel like your falling)?

Nicotine helps the body get rid of caffeine twice as fast as normal.
Smokers who quit, but continue their "normal" caffeine intake, end up almost overdosing on it and, due to the artificial boost it gives, struggle to sleep and concentrate.
Try cutting out tea, coffee and other caffeine drinks and products for a while and substitute them with water, decaffinated drinks and, at bedtimes, milky drinks.
It worked for me and I only drink decaffinated PG Tips tea now, it's not bad at all when you get used to it.
I'm also on Day 3 but a few hours behind you from the looks of it. Still I know what you're talking about. I was a little cranky today to begin with, by the end of the day I just isolated myself and took it easy for a couple of hours, made some tea and just rode through it. It's not always going to be like that. Remember the times you suddenly realise you haven't thought about having a cigarette in hours? It's just like that, only the opposite.
And the twitching and the falling? Oh yes. This hasn't been my first attempt at quitting, truth be told I'm far more optimistic this time than I have ever been before but I need to get to the 50 day mark. In some of my earlier attempts I have had insomnia, sometimes I fall asleep nearly anywhere.
And those times when it's a really deep slight I get the falling sensation every time. Scary.
But then I think what sort of drug must I have been on for it to be doing this to me - and that's just my body trying to get rid of it.
Good luck with day 3 or 4, whatever you're on now - I'm right behind you.

I'm having sleep problems, and feel constantly wired - so this might apply to me. I'm going to give it a go, cut out the caffeine and see what happens. Thanks for that one Capitan
Only this morning has the twitching and shaking off my hands calmed down. I did not sleep properly until last night either.
Read loads on the internet says all of the above is common and normally resolves by a week or so. Try not having a coffee after 3/4 in the afternoon, I have managed to get it down to 1 decent coffee in the morning and then hot water throughout the day. The act of making the hot water and the time it takes to drink it takes your mind of things.
Keep going, minute by minute, hour by hour. That's how I got this far.

Day 4 is going ok-ish, feeling a lot more positive, still along way to go, but I am ready for it! and had an awesome sleep last night – with no twitching
I am approaching day 4 smoke free......have not had the twitching yet but just asked the wife that if she see me twitch would she tie me up so I don't hurt myself......
I got a look of disgust........
