Day 7, 3 hours in. Day 6 was actually pretty good considering how hard day 5 was.
I heard a song lyric "There's no such thing as a good time for bad luck" and was thinking today about all the times I decided it was a bad time to quit and didnt. It occurred to me that the good time cigarettes are the ones I'm missing the most.

Gotta say that "cigarettes" and "good times" are not connected! You can still have good times to the max, without the need to smoke. Smoking doesn't make good times any better!
Congratulations on getting to day 7, I'm glad it's getting a little easier for you.
Well done on completing your first week, things certainly do get easier!
I have to agree with Biggrin, cigs don't make a good time better (or make a bad time better). This is one of the first mantras I heard when joining this forum and once you get your head round that and believe it, it makes it so much easier to choose not to smoke.
thanks guys, I guess what I mean by good times cigarettes are the ones that I'd smoke throughout the week whenever I'd have little victories or when life seemed to be travelling along well. It's a little ironic at the moment.
Don't want to labour the point.............but I'm going to!
It doesn't matter whether the good times are major or minor, it's the good time itself that feels good. The cigarette is incidental, is only there by association and makes no contribution to the good feelings! People who have never smoked still manage to have and enjoy their good times.
Sorry to hear that things are difficult at the moment.
You know what Briggin things arent that difficult at the moment, I think today was probally the easiest so far. I do see what your saying, it is just association and not at all a contributing factor to things being good, but that is a strong association all the same and one that I can see I've been unknowingly reinforcing.
