I'm on day 6 today and my accounts workbook has calculated that I've saved £34.68p so far I feel great and I've had no major cravings.
The champix seems to be working although I do still get a slight urge to have a cig at the usual times (e.g. after breakfast, lunch etc) but I've found that changing my daily routine slightly has helped dampen those.
The Champix - I feel like I'm managing the depression associated with the drug quite well by jogging <- fighting fire with fire. I can feel the difference in my fitness levels already
Getting my thoughts out on this forum is helping massively too.
So far so good.
Thanks for reading
Plus, I've just started dating a really nice girl who is a non-smoker Love going out with her and not stinking of cig smoke.

well done, and are they urges like a crave - or a flash of OH CIG then its gone? I had flashes more than craves once i was a few weeks into the champix
having said that i only lasted on them a month, then just used this forum
Definitely flashes. I get them quite frequently but they dont last long, like when I'm working and I stop for a break - When i stand up from my chair the first thought is 'cig time'. but then I remind myself that I dont do it anymore.
You're probably right in saying that the flashes are just habit and not actual withdrawal effects.
Thanks for your kind words and well done to you for giving up. You must feel great now that you dont have the stress of shelling money out every day for cigs, I do.

Yes indeed, I have opened up a savings account, aptly named non smoking fund, and on the days when I would of bought my baccy I now deposit that cash in the account. Its now day 8 of my quit and I have in the account £49.50. Well by my reckoning that's almost £200 saved by the end of this month. Well I never, no debt after Christmas.
Congrats on your quit, you must feel fantastic, come join our strong and ever growing Christmas Conquerors Group, it is superb support when needed, and even better giving the support to those who require it.

I'm pretty sure that Champix isn't intended to get rid of the craves completely. It didn't for me, and simply reduced them to such and extent that they were a mild irritation at the most. So don't worry about the mild urges you are getting -they are to be expected.
As far as depression on Champix is concerned, some people (a small minority) do become depressed when taking it. Most don't though. I'm not clear from your post whether you are getting depressed feelings or not. If you aren't then don't worry - it isn't a requirement of taking Champix to feel s**t! (despite what you read in the newspapers!!!)
