Just put up our Xmas tree, love Christmas so much - but - after I'd finished, had an overwhelming desire to smoke:eek: what the hell is that about:cool:
Rational thinking - this time last year I was a smoker and that is what I did last year. Remember, give yourself a reward after completing a task
Not this time joker, you ain't got a chance.
By the way, today is my 8 month anniversary eeeehhhhh hhhhhaaaaa xxxx

Congratulations on your 8 months anniversary, wow that is a fantastic achievement. Really pleased for you, and congratulations on resisting the desire to smoke after such a long time.
I have heard that these unexpected craves can creep up on you at any time just to see if they can knock you off guard. Not looking forward to the sneaky pesky fellas creeping up on me...but forwarned is forearmed or something like that
Anyway Congratulations on your new milestone, you are an inspiration to all us newbies.
ooh havent done my tree yet, but you are right, I would sit back look at it and smoke........... shit, thanks for the warning I am only a week free. However now my brain is forwarned I am fore armed. thanks a million, that may have given me a freaking melt down, espically as I am pedantic about the tree, and this year my sons girlfriend asked could she help me, ( I didn't let my own kids help me,......... sooooooooooooo yea smoking time) I will surpass this ....... I am forewarned, now fore armed. breathe deep.
Well done Magwillz on getting to month 8 that is a great achievement
as you go through the first year especially you will get automatically thoughts that pop into your head when you do something for the first time since you quit smoking its nothing to worry about and now and again you will also get a strong craving you just have to remember that it will pass its like the smoking dreams i still get them now and again and when i wake up i feel so relieved ((abit like when i dream of my ex  omg now thats even scarier)
and def forwarned is forarmed reading and posting on here will def help you to remember how you felt in the first few weeks especially
onwards and upwards is def the way to go and look forward to you joining us in the penthouse

Amazingly inspiring post, I'm at the start you may say (45 days ) I found that the cravings are easing, but if in situations where not been since quitting my urges are alto stronger
Thank you for coming back and sharing how u are getting on
Biddy pat, glad to be of help. Keep on your guard especially in the early days good luck with the tree, I know exactly what you mean:eek: it's my job and no one else's hehe.
Ooooh Know what you mean Mags, just another trigger to get over. I did think about it for a fleeting second but that was all. I have also put my tree up and it is first Christmas as a non smoker. Well done with your quit though you really are doing great. 8 months is brilliant! Does the tree look good?
