Do I post in here now? I quit on the 6th Feb? I am not sure because I notice that the Jan quitters have only just entered here?

Anyway I have definitely been smoke free now for 5months so I am very pleased with myself It has not been easy and I know I still have triggers to face, but it is worth it.

Well done Haze. For me, things sort of changed once I started thinking in months not weeks. Still have triggers at times, but at 5+ months we are in it for the long haul, and we know it. Would be faaaaaaaar too devastating to backtrack now. Congratulations - keep on keeping on x

Thanks we are in it for the long haul you are right! I have really struggled this week been really stressful and I have thought about it a lot. Not give in though!

Did not expect how I have felt this week. My sister has COPD and she is an alcoholic. She is in complete denial. I work with her, and unfortunately she has been made redundant this week. The alcoholism has cost her her job. I have been trying to support her and it has been tough. A really good reason not to start again, when I see her struggle to breathe. Heartbreaking stuff and I guess it doesn't get much tougher than seeing someone you love go through this.

I have to ask though, I see this a lot, can I ask what COPD is? Thanks for the reply. COPD Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a serious illnessMy sister has emphysema which is one of the diseases that come under this heading. The Emphysema my sister has is caused through smoking but she refuses to give up. It is a progressive illness and is very distressing for the sufferer. The illness though can be controlled and it doesnt get worse if you can manage to stop smoking. That is as much knowledge as I have of it. Champix as you probably now know is drug to help people stop smoking.

Nicely done Haze! 5 months is a great effort, and just think that in only 4 weeks, you can say "HALF A YEAR!!!"

Apologies for the delay - back from hols last night.

Congrats on getting into the 6th month - a fantastic achievement. (Especially as you were not having the best of times - sorry to hear about that). I'm sure you're in the right room - if it works the same as previous rooms - as you have now entered your 6th month of not smoking. Soon it will actually be 6 full months!! You're right to be pleased with yourself. Well done - pat yourself on the back - and go book yourself a holiday!
