I might not be right but I think its like 3 months after you finished the last course and then you make an appointment and talk about what went wrong and what could u do this time and maybe try a different method.
What did u try last time? I did the patches now cos I don't like tablets, especially ones that make your brain work differently so champix was a no no for me. Observing people on champix just now and they seem to make you go a bit mad!! Like moodswings and rages at slight things. So I am pleased I didn't go for that.
It was just before christmas that i finished my 12 week course! unfortunately this was due to many pressures such as illness within the family so stress - not that its any excuse!
I was on the patches and inhalator and they did help! Think it will just be a matter of being alot stronger minded this time for the last time!
hello Helen M sorry to hear yo've had a slip.Time to pick yourself up and start all over again and please don't crucify yourself for having a slip. Just try and not to make the same mistake again. If you feel like smoking pick up the phone and call a sympathetic friend and unload your feelings before you reach for a cigarette. Remember a problem shared is a problem halved.
Where did I glean all these thoughts.
I used these tips in my early days of my on going recovery from my addiction to alcohol some 21 years ago.
The addict is a strange beast we very easy fall into thinking that one won't do me any harm. That one sets off the whole crazy cycle again, with all the feelings of failure, inadequancy that goes with it.
Regarding if you are eligible for another free course of smoking cessation products; log on to the NHS SMOKELINE site where you'll find on on-line help desk and a Freephone telephone number. I'm sure they'll be able to help.
I live in Scotland and I know that your GP can prescribe them however I don't know if that's the case for other parts of the U.K.

Well it might be no excuse but at least you've learned from that mistake and will be prepared for it this time. Expecting craves and stresses to happen and learning how to deal with them, that's all you need to do. Once you've got your head around that the hurdles will seem smaller.
I didn't use the inhalator because I didn't want to keep the 'habit' there. I did try nicotine gums but chose not to have them after a few days and had the patches alone, I just didn't want to be dependant on anything else. Think I've only got 2 more appointments to go with the nurse so can't wait for that to be over.
Go make an appointment with the nurse and take it from there you've got nothing to lose. Hope you get on ok x
I still have to pay for my nrt bloody england lol but its 7.40 every 2 weeks so still a lot better off lol and cheaper than buying them at the shops aswell
We pay a one off prescription cost to the health authority and get 12 weeks free
Never! Where do you live?
In england we pay for prescriptions by the item when we work. So if you have 5 boxes of the same pills you pay 7.40 and if you have 5 boxes of one and 2 of another you will pay 14.80 its shocking!! If you're on working tax credits and you work they're free and obviously pensioners and people on benefits get them free.
You sort of get penalised for working really in england
