Quitting smoking with e-cigs

Hey Everyone,

I am new here but want to talk about my life as a smoker.

I want to talk about myself and my habit firstly. I started smoking because of a girl called Mary, this was back when I was in school and wanted to impress the heck out of her. It started as a one a day thing, then as I got to know her better and started to hang out with her more I started smoking more and more to spend more time with her. The good news is that I got me a really good looking, sweet girl as my first girlfriend. The bad news is I got a 15 a day habit, we spent 3 years together and then we broke up in the worst possible way, this increased my habit to 20 a day and I never really recovered from it. Almost 10 years on I am still smoking and I recently started to work out and am constantly coughing. I really feel horrible every day. Talking to new girls in a world that is slowly not smoking is killing my chances. It just isn't cool anymore, standing outside in the cold when I go out to a bar makes me feel and look dirty. So on that note a friend has recommended e-cigs I am going to document my progress honestly so we can get a better idea if E cigs can help you quit smoking. I should receive my starter kit tomorrow and will update then.

The guy didn't post a link so it isn't spam. Sounded like a cry for help to me.

Talking about e-cigs is fine but I have removed the brand name from the original post.

Call me an old cynic who's spent 54 months on the forum but where a poster's first 2 posts are regarding ECigs and both mention a particular make then I smell something fishy, and I'm not talking about the contents of Baldrick's apple crumble.

I'd love to be wrong, I really would... ;)

Oh, and a five star rating of course!

Well I was trying with an e-cig before I first joined this forum as a work colleague was having success with them. I wasn't trying to sell anything though, and I don't even remember the brand name!! They work for some people so don't knock them, but not for me cos I think I gave myself nicotine poisoning. One thing I do remember though is that my stop smoking motivation was higher than it is now, so they were'nt bad if used correctly.

That's no problem, hope I didn't cause an issue.
