I am doing it!

I am trying to stay positive. I have been having trouble sleeping. I feel like I am always waiting for something or someone. Slightly sad today, but still determined to be a non smoker!

sleeping trouble is normal and low mood is normal , all will get better re- read all the imformation you can knowledge is power

the waiting bit you say is just your mind adjusting, you have spent your life learning to smoke with every emotion and situation now your mind has to learn to cope with situations and emotions without smoking

i read something once that helped me it kinda went like this

if there was a snake and it could bite you and only once in his life he would have a poisonous bite would you take that risk 10, 20 times or more a day to let him bite you and hope that you didnt get the poisonous bite that would kill you

no of course you wouldnt

but we would smoke 10, 20 or more times a day and risk wether it was that cigarette that triggers cancer, heart attack, stroke etc

this really hit home with me and put things in perspective and even now if i get a slight incline for a cigarette i think of the snake and will this bite kill me

boo

Yes, I am adjusting to a change. I was going to saw a 'loss' but i know that is the wrong language. I have lost nothing. I am learning to feel complete without depending on smoking.

I do no WANT to be a smoker. I am trying not to miss it.

That's the spirit - it can and does take time, but it also gets easier. Just take it a day at a time. And keep reading and posting - this site is just great

Yeah i know what u mean it does take time to adjust. Its really wierd when u give up and u have all this spare time on your hands and u find yourself bored a little bit but once u find something that makes u happy and occipied its cool!
