I did think whilst filling my car with petrol and looking at the shiny fag packets behind the counter, that wouldn't it be good if we could have a cigarette like we might pull a cracker at xmas or drink champagne at a wedding. ie. once a year as a big special treat.
I know I could never do this.
I must still be a tiny little bit in love with that nasty nicotine.
But I can resist and will continue to do so.

I worked with someone who had given up smoking for about 10 years at the time. I asked him longingly how he had done it. He told me he hadnt stopped smoking that as soon as he knew he was dying he would have his last one then, but for the moment he just wasnt smoking today.
I think that our brain will always have a little love left for the murderer in the shiny jackets, as you have done you just have to continue not smoking today.
You are doing so well Lizzie, Im so proud of you and in the same breath you keep me motivated too.
