I live in the family bar, and we have a cigarette machine, so if I needed a smoke, it was never that difficult to acquire a pack: except when it just so happened that I didn't have the exact change in my pocket. Because of this, I became acutely aware of all the places a coin could get lost - down the back of the sofa, under the furniture or the fridge, under a car seat or even oh-for-god's-sake-it's-in-the-hoover. I would drop absolutely EVERYTHING until I had rummaged through every nook and cranny and collected the required coins (I don't know what prices are like elsewhere, but here cigs cost almost nine euro for a pack of 20, and it's illegal to sell packs of 10).

So, another unanticipated consequence of quitting for me: fewer injuries from tearing the house apart in search of coins. Anyone else out there experience something similar?
