Good morning planet Earth

Well another day as a non smoker is drawing near and it passed without problem. Yesterday was another test day as I went for a few drinks with a few pals; last time I went for a few afternoon beers and games of pool I'd chain smoke my way through a packet.

I felt strong and refreshed!

Got my gym induction booked yesterday and might go for a swim with the family today. I say go for a swim, I think if I go with my wife and baby it'll be more of a splishy splashy session.

Time to make further improvements though I think. I really need to start shedding some of this excess weight. :D

Good to see you back on the wagon again. I had to join a gym this year due to my unhealthy weight and i truely started to work on it at the beginning of this month, i go to the gym sometimes, i also go for a swim/splash about in the pool with the family and i use a new treadmill that we have bought for home use so that i can get my exercise.

I have started to watch what i eat and calorie count now so i know what i have had and so far i have lost just over 6lbs this month but 3 before that. Anyhow good luck in both aspects.

    Take care

  • 6lbs is great progress! I've failed so far today, the swim was overtaken by bacon sandwiches. I will hopefully go this evening...I I plan for that then I won't have a sneaky Sunday afternoon drink. :D

  • Bacon sarnies won the day huh? Hmm, they sure are a temptation and often are the result of me crumbling too. Thick fresh bread, smoked bacon, egg and shrooms ... YUM

How'd this evenings swim go? ;)

Great to see you adding up the quit days and sounding strong and positive.

Long may it last ... all the best Mart, with regular gym attendance, a cake free diet, less beer and resisting the cider craves and shedding some weight in readiness for your op :)

    Morning Pol,

The swim was excellent! We all ended up going over lunch when it was nice and quiet. Sophia wasn't keen on me holding her in the water (the only time she's a mummy's girl), so I managed to get a good 40 minute swim in. Seemed far too easy! First time I've been swimming as a non smoker in ... well far too long.
