Yes!!! Just put it in the past and continue with your quit. The sad part is you go back to day one of your quit and through all the hard work again i was nearly 10 weeks and now i am back at day 5 as I smoked on Saturday. It is hard to stay motivated once you smoke but try and keep the right mindsest and avoid the situation that made you smoke in the first place. I have been struggling with the alcohol as that is when i have a smoke so I am going to avoid it the now. Trust me though if you have another one it will definitely lead to another and another. Just get straight back on the quit and dont cut yourself up about it, it is sooo worth it. PS: This day five is easier than my last day five!! best of luck
Have you tried the lozenges? They are great would highly recommend them. I am using patches also as they keep the cravings at bay and only have to think about the habit.
Alfie if you have only smoked one or two since march, forget it and continue with your quit, somebody on here the other day had the right point, if you are on a diet and you go out for a special meal and eat for England then get straight back to the diet the next morning, have you lost your diet, No of course you haven’t so a couple of cigs doesn’t kill your quit (in my opinion that it) so long as it is a couple and not a couple of weeks of course.
Get straight back on the wagon and away you go, good luck for the next 20 years of your quit
thanks hazel, ive had one this morning. am having a starting to smoke feeling and wish it would stop. i may get an inhalator and start fresh after that. totally messed this up. getting annoyed my phone keeps not using capitals too!
a couple of wkds ago i went thru the wanting a smoke feeling but it was so bad i didnt know how i was going to get through the day, it lasted AGES too and looking back i think its because i was convincing myself i was missing out on something (it was a saturday afternoon) and i had no idea how i would get through the nite not smoking. what i did was go to the shop and spend £7 on something for myself as a treat. Even just gettin out the house and goin out and being busy really helped me. i came back home with my treat and felt really good and to be honest the craving was still there but not as strong and then later on in the night i got this huge feeling of happiness and was really proud of myself. Roll with it and when u get over the craving you will feel ace and proud. i think a lot of it is in the mind tho. honestly those lozenege are great just sook on them and before you know it theres no craving!
Just try and get through today without having another one because tomorrow is a different day and u will feel different. I actually stopped at lunchtime on my first day so i had done half a day already before the "morning" one. Patches are great but itch a little for about half an hour, once they kick in your mind seems to work differently too.
