My husband has this and i had a go. It tastes foul and immediately gave me MASSIVE hiccups - so much so, i forgot the urge to smoke! won't be trying it again!

It probabley takes some getting used to, the nasal spray was the same, tasted awfull at first and really hurt my noise and gave me constant sneezing but I got used to it after awhile and loved it, lol.

hi guys

this is like my 7th attemptat stoping so far lol, anyways i thought id give you my experience so far, started with the new quickmist on thurday, got it with 5 pounds off at a local pharmacy so worth the go. first 2 days was experiencing mild discomfort in my throught and burrning senstion in my mouth, once i had hickups. second day again mild discomfort in my mouth with each spray, saturday and today and i can say that i have no effect, my mouth has built a tollorence to it and is verry easy and enjoyable to take. its like spraying a mint mouth spray,

i would strongly advise that 1 squirt on a craving is enough, more than enough, i smoked 30 a day for 10years and at 25 i thought i have to stop. i am hoping that the pump will last a week at most, which in how effective it is i reckon its fantastic, 1 squirt and probs 20 second later my craving dissaperes.

patches are anoying and just feed too much nicoteen through the day so this for me works much better,

i feel so good with using this spray, i cant stress to my friends how good it is and thought id google to see how it was effecting other ppl and stumbled here. i will be going to the chemist tomoz hoping to get 3-4 more whilst on discount(fingers crossed)

only gripe with the spray is there is no level to see how much is left but iff you peel the back lable off you can see a plastic bottle inside so i can judge how much is left from that, it also leaks if not closed properly. nice and stylish and fits nice in my poket, can take it with me whilst im working in customers houses and have a quick spray iff needed, without worrying about finding time to sneek out for a cheeky fag.

il be back as i could do with support as its hard to give up, and sorry for the spelling, i have had a few beers and im welsh not english, toodles,:p

hey, just a quick update,

on my 14th day now, so far so good, this thing works very very well, for the last week i have not been using the spray much, trying to use it as an emergency rather then a smoke replacement.

so yea, i can highly recomend the spray, nothing else to say about it really. works well, finding my self eating a lot more now as to keep my hands busy.

so far the best in my opinion NRT, dosage seems a little high at 1mg and i am sure that if the dose was reduced to half a milligram per spray it would have less side effects.

ACTUALLY I DID NOTICE oops soz caps lock, on using a brand new quickmist the actual effects off the slight burning in the throght and mouth re appeared? this may be that as the spray is used the mixture is strongest at the begining rather then the end, strange, spray is always in my pocket so is constantly shaken all day.

Hi there, it is good you have found a suitable replacement, however, for this to work, you need to use it for about 3 months and then after 3 months cut down dramatically otherwise you will get cravings.

Now, rather than pay £17 for just one pack, your NHS GP practice provides a 'Stop Smoking service' which is free to use, you will get a lot of support and you can try different products and techniques, they are also one-to-one personal visits which are fortnightly(after your 2nd appointment) with the practice nurse, if you like the spray, then let them know and you can get a twin pack of the Nicorette Mist Spray. All for free, on the prescription make sure you tick the box which states free NRT as part of the stop smoking programme.

By the way, for heavy smokers who have trouble with cravings, try the Nicorette mist spray WITH Nicotinell 1mg 24 hour patches, place the patch on at night time before bed time and exchange it the next night for a fresh one and throughout the day, use the Nicorette mist spray, do this for 3 months and then attempt to reduce. After week 1, DO NOT SMOKE at all as this will ruin your chances of stopping and can make it even more difficult.

The above is ideal for those who also smoke within 15 minutes of waking up, it stamps out the craving.

Hints:

Used Niquitin patches? Made you itchy? then try Nicotinell patches and vice versa, due to different types of adhesives used. Everyone reacts differently to the glues(adhesives) used, each brand uses different types, for that reason you should use your local NHS stop smoking service to see which one is right for you and so you don't waste money on unwanted products.

It's also important not to spray more than the required dose, overdosing on nicotine can make you ill and cravings can worsen. Also do not use more than one patch at a time and do not use anything higher than 1mg patches if using together with the Nicorette spray.

By the way Inhalators,E-Cigarettes/Elites and Nicotine water(Not popular outside the USA just yet) are not recognised as a successful way of quiting and are seen as healthier alternatives, therefore they are not given out by the NHS and are NOT to be used if you want to quit, they just replace normal cigarettes and when you run out, you will find the nearest shop and buy a pack of normal cigarettes.

If you get stuck or just need some advice, you can contact your GP practice during working hours or contact the NHS stop smoking helpline on 0800-169-0169 or visit your products manufacturers website of which some have an interactive online stop smoking service.
