Am haein sik a guid time, am haein a ba'
I made it here. Last night was a real struggle. I woke up really annoyed with myself that I caved in and smoked three fags yesterday evening.
I was so happy when I realised that was a dream

Hi Fencer,
Sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish. I remember the early days of my quit - it was really tough. It gets so much easier though. Soon you'll be wondering why you didn't do it sooner!
You mention an NHS pharmacy scheme in your signature - please can you tell me more? Do you get to see a smoking advisor? My Mum is finally talking about quitting the demon weed :). She wants to use NRT and this sounds like it might be easier than finding time to get the Docs every other week.

Angie, I noticed Fencer is off line so thought I would butt in.
If your mum goes on the quit4life website it gives info etc. There is a number to call and they tell you where and when the clinics are. You get to speak to someone when you go and you get your nrt - this is just the price of a prescription. It is free at the moment but not sure when that offer finishes.
You have to go back at least every other week though so that you can get more supplies and talk etc.
Hope that helps and sorry Fencer for cutting in

Yeah, this is basically how it works for me. I need to go in every week and they give me 1 week supply. I don't pay for prescriptions anyway, so was not aware that it was free for everyone at the moment.
It suits me because I can't take time off work to see doctors, I was not interested in group sessions and such like. Go in, let the chemist know how I got on and leave
Dinna Stop Me Noo...
Every time I see that thread title I imagine Freddie Mercury singing the song in a rather thick scottish accent...
...it amuses me anyway.
