Chloe, it'll pass... can't guarantee how quickly, I shovelled food down my gullet incessantly for about a month. But it does pass!
Don't worry about weight etc for now, this quit is far more important. You can lose weight. You can't cure the damage that smoking can do. So *try* to eat healthily but don't drive yourself mad. One battle at a time!
Well done on deciding to quit. Keep going.

apparently in the very early days of your quit your mind gets muddled on hunger and craves for cigarettes

it will pass read as much info as possible it helps emmensely
Hi Chloe , it is normal on the first few days of your quit to binge eat. Don't worry as you settle into your quit your food cravings will ease off along with your nicotine cravings .
The first 3 days are always the toughest and once you have got over them you will notice yourself become more comfortable and enjoying your new found freedom.
Introduce lots of healthy foods to nibble on , carrots , celery and apples as they are not fattening and are soooooooooooooo good for you .
Best wishes , Trev x

Dont worry about the food...Stopping smoking is way more important. I am just coming up to my 8th month stopped and had put on a stone in 6 months and just managed to get rid of the extra weight.
Take 1 day at a time and 1 challenge at a time. Deal with the cigs first and the weight when you have got your smoking sorted.
Keep up the good work
