Today is day 15 for me so thought I would say hi! My last cigarette was on 30th November and I have been reading the forum everyday since I stopped but didn’t want to post too early in case it all went wrong!
I have been smoking since I was thirteen and over the past year have been easily smoking around 20 a day if not more. I decided enough was enough and made the decision overnight to quit. Phoned the doctor, made an appointment to see the nurse and here I am 15 days later without having one cigarette. It is nothing short of a miracle!
I have quit a couple of times in the past, once with hypnotherapy but started smoking again after six weeks and once using patches but started again after nine months. This time I am using patches and lozenges which have been excellent for me so far. I’m not going to pretend it has been easy. I had one horrendous morning when my hair straighteners packed up and I threw a huge fit. Pathetic I know! How I didn’t buy cigarettes that morning is a wonder to me but somehow I managed it!
This time I am telling myself that I haven’t quit but simply just not smoking each day and it seems to be working well.
I have found reading other members posts really inspiring and this forum always stops me thinking of smoking at work during break times so I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone!
