Into my 11th day … and feeling a bit smug that I have gained enough strength to knock that demon down a peg or two .. when he raises his ugly head I am now starting to laugh at him .. some mornings now when I wake up my first thought is NOT a cup of coffee and a fag or three! … so I know I am starting to win the battle bit by bit … hour by hour – more time is elapsing in between me thinking about smoking .. my senses are really coming back to life .. don’t like the smell of coffee anymore (love the taste though) very odd .. every day now I am starting to realise the benefits which makes me feel good about myself – to anyone starting out you must read this site over and over there is so much knowledge here – everyone knows what you are up against and they also know the pitfalls which you have to be aware of … looking forward to the first “smoke free Christmas” in 30 years ….. best of luck to us all- Shelly xx

Well done Shells. Nearly your 12th day now! I feel quite smug too, into my
4th week now, but can't get complacent just in case. Had to reply to you cos of your bit about the smell of coffee. My hubby just tried to give me a goodnight kiss after he'd just had a cup. Had to push him away and told he he smelt like revels, and not the one's I like
Anyway you'll soon have two weeks behind you. Good going hun xx
Thankyou Rachel .. two smuggies together then! ha .. it's really odd I can smell coffee from a hundred miles away it seems! (maybe that is a slight exaggeration!!) your poor hubby ... it's his fault though cos no-one likes the coffee one in a revels bag ! not even me ....... brilliant news on your 4th week well done you ... stay strong ... Shelly xx
Well done Shelly and Rachel. You're both doing great!!
Shelly - Your comment about it being your first smoke-free Christmas for 30 years reminded me that this'll be my first smoke-free one for 32 years . I did have a 9-month quit 7 years ago but that was February to early December so that was a smoky Christmas too!!
Anyway, well done to both of you and you'll be able to spend longer with friends and family at Christmas as you won't have to keep dashing off to feed your addiction!!
Ed xx
Thank you Ed - can you believe we smoked all those years?? when I stop and think about it - I just can't believe it! ... I too stopped for about 5 months in between one Christmas and another .. as well as all the healthy bits that start kicking in when you stop .. one of the best things for me is not having to think in whatever situation I am in .. when can I nip out for a fag! ... so yes I will definitely be enjoying my smoke free Christmas thank you .... Stay strong Shelly xx
