I wanted to say hello, and thank you! I had my last cigarette on Thursday 21st October at 11pm. Orginally I was put on Zyban by the nurse, but took it for one day and hated it so am now CT (by the way - how can a drug that was originally an antidepressant make you so depressed??!!).
This forum has been a great help. Days 1 through 3 were hell, but ended up having a series of arguments with my son's dad - if I can get through that right?!
Now each day is getting easier, and I have an asthma clinic today, and that will be interesting!

Good morning and well done on the quit
I tried zyban last year but i couldnt get on with it either, some people cant but some people can and find it brilliant, everyone is different.
You will find each day a bit easier, so as Garry said in his other post... ONWARDS AND UPWARDS......
Hope asthma clinic is ok for you today... its going to be so nice to tell them that you quit ... what a feeling
Thanks for the nice words! Asthma clinic was fine. Having lived in the USA for a while (4 years) they just wanted to check up on me now I am back! They gave me an inhaler (not had one for 5 years!) - they said cigarettes actually contain a broncho-dilator, and that is why they give the impression of helping you breathe, and why asthma can seem worse the first few days after quitting - had no idea (although I did know that weirdly a cig would help if I felt asthmatic and did not have my inhaler). Tricky b******* are cigs - ultimately make it worse, but feel better immediately!
