i am trying to quit smoking i have done about 8 hours (i quit about 8pm), i find the first morning i have to face really hard. i am using patches and i think they take about half an hour to kick in. it is very important that i quit because i have crohn's disease and smoking can cause me to have a relapse. a relapse means i'd have to go in hospital, i will get rally bad stomach pains and i wont be able to keep any food down. well i look forward to your replys, thanks.

Hi Daniel, well you've done made the important decision and that's to stop. Different people use different methods to stop, you will find one that works for you. The most important thing is to really, and I mean REALLY want to stop, to a point where smoking just makes you unhappy. From then on it's willpower and taking it one day at a time, don't look at the big picture, it can seem too scary for some.

Good luck, let us know how you are getting on,

Lorraine :)

Welcome Daniel & well done on your decision to quit.

Keep strong & focussed on the reason you are doing this. You will notice so many benefits to you health not just to the crohn's.

If you are really struggling in the mornings (which is, was my worst time) either try the 24 hour patches or set your alarm clock a bit earlier & slap one on before you get up or perhaps get a box of lozenges so you can have one of those while the patch kicks in. Do whatever you have to do to keep you on your quit (so long as it is legal LOL).

Keep reading & posting, there is always someone around to listen & help.

Bayu stop using the strong text!!

Bayu, sorry I know English is not your first language, but please stop using bold text and exclamation marks. I cannot stand it and it is driving me crazy. You seem intelligent but then seem like an idiot writing this way. No one will want to respond to you if you continue to write this way. What age are you anyway? I guess you are some rich kid who plays computer games while daddy thinks you are studying. Tell me I am wrong.

cheers,

Rachel
