Hi everyone. I have smoked for about 10 years now. I AM quitting tomorrow because i really need to do it. I am a single parent to a 3 year old girl and i want to stop so i can run around the garden with her, it nearly kills me right now after about 10 minutes of running about.
I am starting tomorrow, using the inhalator just for back up.
Good luck to everyone else on this mission of better health.

Congrats on your quit the first few days are the worse but things improve really fast. Just take it a day at a time and a hour when need be. You will have great support here so post as much as pos .xxxxx
I am going to go with the nicorette inhilator. I got some waiting for the morning, new day new start.
But i heard good things about the Allen Carr book, so thinking about getting it tomorrow with the money i would be buying cigs with.
Hi and welcome!
Allen Carr is very good, didn't entirely "click" for me but was certainly helpful, and the key is to change the way you think about smoking, and quitting.
In your case you will be gaining the health and stamina needed to play with your daughter etc rather than sacrificing some great pleasure!! You will see some links in my signature there are a couple of free "quit smoking" programs and loads of inspirational and educational stuff to be found on those sites to.
One last thing to remember, is that although you are motivated to quit because of your daughter, the person that will benefit from it the most is you, you are quitting for yourself not someone else! They will benefit as well, but if you decide that you are are doing it for yourself then you are less likely to resent the fact that you have quit when irrational thoughts crop up IMHO.
Its great to see real love for a child and giving up smoking is the best thing one can do for children very well done,we are all here for you its hard at times the inhaler is great realy very good I used 12-15 at first they say take pleanty of ntr at first, I got 6 months with ntr but I went a bit over board I used patches, gum and inhaler all at the same time while reading Allen Carr,s (easy Way to Stop Smoking ) this time I went c/t ,reading and walking with my 4year old son so the very best off luck and keep posting:)Jimbo
