Well it's day 8 for me and this time last week I was unsure if I'd make it a couple of days.
Starting to feel a lot healthier - breathing isn't as much of a chore and I can take a really big breath without wheezing An extra plus is my teeth feel cleaner.
Here's to week 3 - I'm on my way

Being the sceptic that I am I can't help feeling that this has all been too easy so far - am I going to hit a major wall soon????
The champix has been great so far in helping with any cravings, there've been no major problems or side effects so it all feels a bit too good to be true.
I'm going to stay strong though - come too far to let anything ruin it.
Nittlenic - hope all's well and will see you in week 2 soon
Beanie - the hula hoop has taken up it's new residence hanging off the door handle I plan to beat it at the weekend!!

Hi, first of all well done. I am only on day 10 myself. I have been reading your posts and couldn't agree more with what you have said. It surprised me how quickly you can see the benefits and yes also how it hasn't been half as hard as I expected. To be fair I am on patches (which are obviously helping a great deal) but I dont even have cravings anymore-not since day 4, not a single one. What I also think helps me is the fact that even when I smoked I thought it was disgusting and really wanted to quit, just wasnt looking forward to the stress that came with it. So yeah, frame of mind plays a big part too. This forum is also really helpful I find. It covers everything!
Well done on getting through the first and hardest week.

Yes and no (not the most useful opinion I know)
I'm halfway through my third week and also using Champix. I've found it exactly the same as you - almost too easy. And that, for me, is where the problem can lie. The wall which I've been a little close to hitting for the odd 5 minute spell here and there is complacency. I've found, because its been so easy to stop, the little voice of addiction in the back of my mind will say "its been easy to stop so it does'nt matter if you have on." This was particularly bad when I opened a cupboard door and found the OH's stash of 10.
But its easy to get through those moments - they're rare. You do, alas, need willpower with the champix. And again - its easy to find the willpower (this comes from someone who's longest quit before this was 5 days) because, just like you, I noticed the benefits of stopping almost immediately. If you find yourself wanting or thinking about a fag then take a deep breath and listen as you don't wheeze - its a wonderful feeling.
you should be very very proud. Don't worry about the road ahead, take each day as it comes and remember as each one goes by you never have to them again.
My mum always told me 'if it seems to good to be true it usually is' and I guess that's stuck with me.
Thanks Jez - great post. Complacency has always been an issue but you're right. Every day I feel a little bit better and this has helped curb the cravings as I know what it's taken for me to get here - don't want to go through the first couple of days again. Plus I love my new lungs - much friendlier than the last one's
Lornaj - I am incredibly proud of myself as should everyone on here be
So onwards and upwards I say. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
