Ok so today is my first day, I'm feeling ok but worried its going to get worse!!

Just wondering what the withdrawal symptoms are??? Obviously short tempter lol...but any others? I've heard people can get chest infections when they quit :eek:

Also...and tips which have worked for you would be useful.

Stay positive.. you can do this!!

Have read through peoples posts and links on here, many great ways to help you get rid of the "wanting a fag" feeling.

Im new here too.. the only withdrawal feeling i am getting is obviously the need for a smoke at times.. but am staying positive and not having one.

Others will post here for you on there with drawal symptons so you will be able to understand them better.

hey well done u! everyone different i found i had a couple of restless nights :(sleep didnt really get short tempered just more emotional and thats me nearly at the month mark and ive never had a cough or cold in fact i was suffering from bad sinus headaches all the time and thats completely dissappeared so defo feel better! Just think for every short term down side to stopping there are so many long term benefits some im still waiting on but one for sure is my purse is way heavier and my sense of smell now is amazing (not always a good thing) just focus on the positives and good luck with your quit x linz

Well done on giving up.

You might feel irritable and a few restless night but everyone is different.

Just take one day at a time and good luck. I found coming on here a great help when I felt bad.

Well done on the decision to stop, you will do grand! Try not to talk yourself into having terrible withdrawal symptoms- not everyone does! I was a wee bit moody, and had some rather wierd dreams for a few weeks, but it really isn't that bad. Most of the fight is with your mind- just got to keep reminding yourself you do not smoke anymore. Best of luck to you, read as much as you can and stay strong XX

I'm still glued to this placee for support. I'll be honest with you 'it is not nice' lol. Ive gone cold turkey which means every toxin in my body has given me the most awful headaches. I have a good start to the day but come aft/eve i feel moody and uneasy.

The first 3 nights i would wake at night craving, sleep was an issue but hopefully that will go soon. I can smell things again and with each day i get a little prouder.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Everyone is different, and I agree, no need to talk yourself into bad withdrawels if they're not happening. Some get them early, some get hit later and some just sail through! Just be prepared and read as much to educate yourself as to what this quit is all about, then post and join in the forum . It was my lifeline at the start!
