Day 12 - all i can think about is cigarettes.

I won't have one but can't concentrate on anything else. Even my 8 year old has told me to just have one and forget about it. I told her one would lead to many which is why i will not smoke today..........

or tomorrow, or the day after. My darling children are the main reason i stopped which is why i will stay stopped.

Feel better for that!

xx

Well done getting to day 12, you are doing great. You will still think about them as you were around them for many years many times a day, it will get better as the days go in. Do some reading about the addiction to nicotine, that will help you to understand what is going on as your body and mind heal.

Best wishes.

Jackie

Hi Beccy - day 12 for me too and I'm just the same - I'm trying everything to get my mind off it but my concentration levels are way down. I think I may have got a bit too chuffed with myself as I finally went to the pub last night and didn't miss smoking. I'm now just going to try and get through today. Fortunately reading about everyone else's struggles is really helping :) Al

Killer week 2....

...who would have thought it would be like this eh?!

Beccy boo - keep holding on to the fact you are doing this for your kids and remind yourself that smoking doesn't ease stress, it makes it worse, and you are heading towards the day when you won't feel like this any more!

Gonna be glad to see the end of week 2 myself, has been a toughie, hasn't it?

Everyone hang in there, we will all make it to week 3 and I'm sure that will be a breeze!

I never thought I would be here to say 'this is day 10 for me'.

I feel good. the champix has been my miracle drug.

No tears/no moody outbursts. I do have strong cravings, but, I just tell my 'evil side' that it is just too damned bad, 'cause I am not going to smoke.

I went to a golf course yesterday and signed up for some 'tune up my game' lessons-my treat to myself. Have a busy day planned. I will not smoke.

here are my stats:

I have been quit for 1 Week, 2 Days, 3 hours, 23 minutes and 38 seconds (9 days). I have saved $68.55 by not smoking 228 cigarettes. I have saved 19 hours of my life. My Quit Date: 2/10/2010 6:35 AM

keep on, keepin' on y'all

Thanks for the info links Marg. I see where the guy is coming from regarding not using NRT but I don't think I would have got this far without it. Lots of positive thoughts to fill my head with and the reading proved a good distraction
