Addicted to something else now?

Has anyone felt that they have taken up a new addiction?

I've found that I really like running now, so much so, that I can't wait till I go again.

This is a lot better for me, of course, but now I am taking mental notes on how much further I run in the allotted time. The worst of it is, I have now written my weight each week because......................

wait for it .........................

I have lost a whole whopping 1lb!:D

Is this my new addiction??

Is anyone else showing signs of madness like this?:)

I think exercise is my new addiction. I am planning to run a 5k fun run. I would never have considered it before. I love the feeling of well-being I have at the moment. It's much better than how I felt with the nicotine addiction.

I got myself hooked for months playing facebook games like Cafe World, Farmville, Country Life, Mafia Wars etc. I used to play world of warcraft but after 4 years of that, stopped playing it.

I did find the facebook games an excellent diversion in the evenings though, they should promote them as quit-aids. :)

I had a nice shiny new pair I bought during my last quit, Chrissie. I think I went to the gym about 4 times before I started smoking again. This time I am acutally putting them to good use!

LOL

Not quite - it may be called a running machine, but I plod on it! LOL

After all I am thirty..cough cough cough thirty..cough cough cough heaven.

Still life begins at forty, or is that arthritis begins at forty:confused:

I also can relate to what Jase wrote earlier in this thread, I find that I am making a habit of looking at this forum and seeing how everybody is doing. Especially people that have quitted @ the same time.

Help call the cyber police as this could be classed as stalking.

Ellie,

As we've discussed on a different thread - it's great to feel the difference isn't it?

It is, Sarah. I think I need slow down a bit. I felt so tired last night. Having said that I about to head off to a Pilates class.

Oh my god, just listening to your talk about classes and running makes me fee exhausted :o

Work keeps me fairly active, but I should really do more. Got a running machine in the garage, might have a go on that perhaps.

Great that your new addictions are so good for you, I daren't make another carrot cake cos that did play on my mind, until it was finished

Keep it up, put me to even more shame ;)

Lorraine and Ellie,

I'm with you on this one, I love carrot cake - will make one also!

besides it is good for you, it's 1 portion of your 5 a day fruit and veg isn't it?

If I have glass of wine (grapes) or cider (apples) that will be 2 portions.
