It's tough this morning.

Wow it's tough this morning. Girls gone to school, husband gone to work, won't be back for at least 2 hours. Thank god there are no cigarettes in the house, cos i'm not sure I could be responsible for my actions if there were. Had all those 'one won't hurt' thoughts, no-one will know, I can pretend it didn't happen?!

Thankfully, because I would have to go to the shop and buy some, I can't do that. So i'm going to walk the dog, a long walk I think breathing in all that lovely fresh air. The day will get better :)

Hi Lozza :D

I'm sorry you're finding it tough this morning with those nagging thoughts in your head but this is those sneaky little Nico  Demons trying to get their fix just keep busy, walking the dog sounds like an enjoyalbe distraction

Love

Hi Lozza

Hope the walk with the dog went well and you are back on track, those thoughts are very powerful - I have given into them many times on my quits before this one, I know its hard but keep it up, breath deeply.

Hugs

Hope the dog walking went well, sorry you are finding it tough this morning. Keep busy, keep posting, do some reading, this will pass and you will feel better for getting through it.

Sending you some PMA and a great big hug.

I'm on Day 4 too. The cravings are easing off a bit, but from experience of having quit (or tried to) a few times before, you're just onto the next level. This is the time that got me last time out. You think "I'm doing really well... why don't I just have a ciggy...I can quit easily can't I"?

Well last time I thought like that, it was 9 months before I quit again. and I also moved from cigarettes to unfiltered roll ups, so ended up doing myself more harm.

If you can recognise your behaviour you have a chance of avoiding it. Good luck....from a fellow Day 4-er!!

The secret is keeping busy but I do know it's hard. Can I recommend making bread, honestly punching and kneading that dough is wonderful therapy. Due to the fact I don’t cook I just buy the packet mix and add water!!!! Try it.

Hold on there, you are doing a fine job.

Thanks guys, had a good hour and half walking the dog through the snow, met up with a few fellow dog walkers and had a bit of a laugh. Feel great now. Actually feel really chuffed that I kept myself calm(ish) and left the house with the dog. Really thought for a moment of popping to the shops:o

That's another feeling encountered then. I always used to really enjoy that moment when girls were in school, husbands left for work, I get a cup of coffee and have a cigarette just before I take the dog out. It was actually the only cigarette I really consciously remember having, the rest just followed on from that.

Thanks for all the support and hugs. Great to be able to talk to someone at those sorts of times. Guaranteed you can get things off your chest, distract yourself for a bit, then come back and somebody has listened and spurred you on.

Cheers guys

Lozza you're doing great. Just tell him (nicodemon) to pee off.

You keep strong and don't let him beat you
