This is my third attempt and hopefully my final one. Had my last cigarette yesterday at 4pm!!!!. Put a patch on this morning and so far I've not had a craving, but I'm sure I will have by the time the days is done. I have never been so dertimed to do this and I am hoping that I wont falter again. It's so bizarre I didn't realise that I assosaite smoking with so much of my day to day life from waking up, to driving the car, answering the phone, making the tea, it had completely ruled my life,BUT NOT ANYMORE.
I know I have a freat friend in Karenutd how has introduced me to this site and will give me all the encouragement and support I will need on this long journey.

Congratulations Shazieb. You've tried before so you know it's the right decision. My advice is to read the posts and links here, learn as much as possible about the addiction and how to beat it.
Welcome to this fantastic forum, you will be well looked after by many very helpfull and friendly people. I quit on 9th March 2009 and have never looked back, Although without the help and encouragement on this forum I know for sure I would not have carried on through some really rough times in the beginining. I don't post very often now, but always look on to see how people are going on.... Will defro keep tabs on you now my friend and make sure you get the support I got to give u a brill start.. Day 301 for me now Sharon, Who would have thought it..... Thanx again to everyone on here, and keep up the good work....
Good luck and keep posting it will keep u focused on your quit and anytime u need anything, rant, rave, scream just shout out and will help as much as possible.. Kaz xx

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Thanks Dave and Margaret for your messages and advice and tips on beating this and of course my friend Kaz. Think I will easily get hooked on this website like i have with facebook!!!!.
I think it is a great way of knowing that everyone is in the same boat and encouraging to read up on those that have given up for such a long time I hope one day I can be proud and be like that.
Not that I'm counting but I've not had a cigarette for 26 hours!!!.
Hey Sharon that's how to get through it 1 minute at a time, 1 hour at a time then 1 day, a week and so on. I take it 1 day at a time, the first day seems so far away now and yet the time has flown by.
So good on ya give it your best and you WILL succeed.
BTW what succeeds.....................a budgie with no teeth. :D:D
