Good morning all:)

Well my first tablet is down the hatch. I got up had a cup of tea and my normal cig, had some breakfast which is so alien to me, the only time i eat breakfast is when i'm on holiday lol, but managed a bowl of special k and a slice of toast.

I'm planning to go to the local sports centre today and sign up for membership as i think this would be a good distraction come the 6th Oct...my quit date:)

So far do good!

Enjoy your day:)

Welcome to our cyber family and cogratulations on stopping smoking, there are plenty of people on here who used Champix and will come along and help. You will gain a lot from reading about the addiction to nicotine in the websites at the end of my signature, there you will find tips and stories to help you understand what is happening to you.

Good luck.

Day 1 for me too - together we will succeed

Hi there all , i too have decided to quit i am 32 and have smoked for 18 yrs not really into becoming a stop smoking advertising statistic in the future i want my health back and a prolonged future with my wife and children .

Day 1 of the Champix pretty apprehensive about this myself read lots of stuff on side effects but only 12 weeks and its gonna be worth it .

First pill down with my lunch had a little kip and woke up feeling a little bit lathargic and dosey but that just maybe me .

Quit day October 3rd - Lets have it .

Welcome lilac and largie,

Well done for taking that leap off the springboard. We're all in the same boat here and I don't think that my quit would be the same without this place. Good luck.

Well done on your first day lilac & simon

There are lots of us on here who are all at different stages stopping with champix. So wharever side affects you get, if any, just look back on our posts and you'll find us moaning away. This helps enormously, try it we will be listening and willing you both on.

Good luck Caroline

Hi Lila and Simon,

welcome to the forum! So you are both on day 1 Champix.... you'll be quit buddies then :) This is a great place to get support and give it back as well....... without this forum I can honestly say I'd be smoking right now. So good luck on this journey to both of you!

Hi Simon and Lilac :)

Well done making the decision to quit a major step in itself

The champix will really help with the quit just give it time to really kick in usually around the end of the first week but sometimes a little longer OK

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting

whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg xx
