Can't believe it! Had awful cravings yesterday though for the 1st time in ages, urge got so bad I ended up balling my eyes out to OH on phone to try and distract myself! Have a big night out this saturday with all smokers, very worried about it, if I break and have a smoke will it even taste nice? Or will it just make me feel dizzy and sick after 7 weeks off them?
Nearly 7 weeks!!: Can't believe it! Had awful... - No Smoking Day
Nearly 7 weeks!!
Hi Blondie
Nearly 7 weeks that's great keep going
Sorry you had that bad crave yesterday though and better you bawl your eyes out than reach for a fag I remember having the same thing at around the same time I phoned my Son and bawled at him down the phone and felt better after that
Try not to worry about Saturday OK even though you'll be with smokers if you'll be drinking my advice is to decide how much to drink before you go and stick to it switching to soft drinks when you reach your decided on a mount OK
If you break and smoke I don't think for one minute it will taste nice and almost certainly it will make you feel sick and very dizzy after so long without any
Enjoy your evening out smoke free
Love
Marg xx

Hi Blondie.....7 weeks you absoluite star that is almost 2 whole months...I
remember your first day.
Mood swings are normal at this stage they WILL pass I promise, I am back to normal not that anyone has noticed!!
Dont worry about nights out just turn away and remember why you quit...reada few of the posts from those that have caved and they tell you not only does it not taste nice but the self loathing seems to be the worst.
You have come this far my love.....xx
Thanks so much for your advice and support marg and lorna, much much appreciated. Think I'm just looking for even more reasons to keep up my quit, I'm fine most of the time and then suddenly I seem to hit rock bottom! If i get the urge to smoke on saturday i'll just remind myself that it wont be like what it used to be like and it will just make me want to vomit not to mention the utter disappointment i will feel on sunday morning if i were to slip up! No that is not going to happen, i will try my best and hopefully wake up feeling proud of myself the next day! Thanks again for msgs, its made me feel better and stronger.....xx
I'm being silly at the moment...feeling the Christmas spirt....
Away went the ashtray
No lighter in sight
Those cravings I banish
Away to the night
I read and post daily
For help and for tips
Then eat and drink soundly
Piling pounds on the hips
Oh dear Blondie well done for getting to 7 weeks. I was sort of hoping things would get easier. I am only into week 5.
I was out shopping yesterday when a women had a coughing fit. U know the sort of smokers coughing fit. I don't want to turn into that women so whenever I have a craving I think of her
Hey Blondie,
Must have been something in the air yesterday, as I had a funny emotional turn and ending up sniffling in to my duvet
Feel skippy today but dissappointed in Central Londons Snow Fall I wanted to be snowed in from work lol
Much love xxx
Hi Blondie - about 7 - 8 weeks has been my downfall about 3 times now. I think at this stage you start getting bored with quitting and you start believing that you could just smoke the odd one and get away with it!
Well remember - you are a non-smoker now and you don't find non-smokers having just the odd one, so don't be tempted by that!
Don't worry about your night out, just be prepared - rehearse what you are going to say when someone tries to tempt you to join them with a smoke. Remember that they are jealous and would love you to fail in your quit to make them feel better!
I used to dread nights out with smokers but they are never as bad as you think they're going to be. Have fun and remind yourself that YOU are in control!
Use the night out with the 'smokers' to prove you've come through and won. One simple rule: don't even touch a cigarette, your done with that now
good luck, hope all goes well.
