Hi all, thought it would be a good idea to register on this forum as it may steer me in the positive direction as i keep up my attempt to quit, haven't smoked since first attempt of stopping, now on day 10. Using the nicorette patches although the past day or two at times i have felt slightly urged to go and buy cig's but stayed determined and dedicated to my decision to stop, play football alot and lift weights etc regularly.. so just trying to keep it up and stop eating so much junk food:eek: definitely do not want to put on some weight. One thing that has been bothering me is if im ever out so******ing and have a few drinks, really not sure if i could resist smoking.. i feel its getting tough and been feeling stressed alot as of late with studying etc:confused:

Hi Sweeney :)

Well done you ten days smoke free just hang in there

I'm sorry you're feeling stressed with studying but well done resisting the urge to smoke it really wouldn't make the stress better though Promise also don't fret about putting on a little weight right now as your body stabilaises as it will it will come off again OK

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quittingwhyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg

Hi, welcome and well done getting to day 10. Take care when drinking alcohol as many a good quit was ruined by too many drinks.

There are some very good websites in my signature which will help you to understand what is going on in your head at the moment, read as much as you can to help you stay stopped.

Have a look at the posts further on you will see how others have coped and it will give you the strength to know you can do it too.

Best wishes, keep up the good work.

Jackie
