Week 2 is so difficult

This week is turning into a real nightmare though I still haven't cheated.

The fact that my smoker friend is staying with me is proving so difficult, coupled with the fact that my washing maching broke down yesterday. And an old crush from 22 years ago turned up at my work desk yesterday  Then finally by non smoking clinic has been cancelled today as the nurse is sick. I really really wanted to see her today for a boost.

Sorry I am just ranting, this is so hard

Hi Michelle :)

You're doing great but sorry you're finding it really hard at the moment

Don't worry about the rant we really don't mind so you rant away whenever you need to OK

It must be hard having a smoking friend to stay this early and hope he/she only smokes outside also sorry about the washing machines arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and the clinic being shut just when you needed it as well must have seemd everything was against

So well done for not giving in keep it going I promise it does get easier

Love

Hi MIchelle

Well done for staying strong and staying off the cigarettes. Sounds like you're having a difficult time but you will get through it and you knoqw that having a cigarette won't make anything better and in fact will make everything worse because you'll have the whole "giving up v. guilt at smoking" to go through again.

Stay firm, grit your teeth and you'll soon be out of the diffiult times.

Hiya Michelle,

Day 14 for me now and week 2 was harder for me then week 1. I think just the novelty wears off a little and things happen i.e. your washing machine, it's just facing those moments you would have normally reached for a ciggie, but now you have dealt with it without one, hopefully the next time something happens it will be easier.

Treat yourself to something for making it through! And deep breaths and some relaxation is good.

Take it easy hun and well done :D

Sounds like you're having a rough day. It's not all plain sailing eh. having a smoking friend around is probably not a great help...

I am back at work and one of my managers is being a total tw*t and it's very hard not to just shout at him to f*ck right off, odious little cretin. Ah, that's better! I needed to get that out!! He would still be odious and rude even if I was smoking, so I know a fag won't make anything better, it will just make me annoyed with myself!

Deep breaths...

Deedeebel I now have a great mental image of your line manager. Looks a bit like mine I think!:D

Don't let the odious little cretin spoil your quit. You are much stronger than he is.

Ha! He is a plank!! But, I felt good that my first reaction wasn't to go smoke, and I actually got over the stress really quickly. He's still an odious cretin though!!

MIchelle, You're doing great in the face of adversity....if you can do without a cig through all this..it will only make you stronger. Your boss sounds like a right dangleberry Deedeebel. Mine is just irritating like a wasp that you want to swat, but can't cos you'd be done for ABH:). Week 2 is definately challenging as I often forget that I don't smoke and realise I can't have a fag...that and like the others say...the novelty wears off a bit. The thing is I can't imagine myself going back to smoking as I was miserable smoking, so we just have to get through this first bit and it will get easier. Well done everyone with their quits. XXX

Swat him mentally! I pushed my boss down a lift shaft last Friday (mentally, not in real life!) and I felt fab! It was a great mental image!!

Week 2 is hard, but so long as we remember we cannot ever have even one drag on a fag- and why we'd want to is anyone's guess- we can keep on going. The rest of or lives are worth it! Our easy breathing, lovely smelling, financially better off, less wrinkly lives! Gotta be worth it eh?

HA. That's like the movie where the things just keep going from bad to worse.

Good on you though for not letting it break yah.

For me week two was harder than week one. Week three was (still one day to go until week 4) easier than both week one and two. (Apart from one particularly nasty crave.)

So, hang in there.
