It's official, I'm now on day 2! Only by about 3 minutes but hey, I made it. feeling pretty ok today, a bit stressy but ok. Lunchbreak without a fag was wierd- stood on the steps outside and thought, ooh, what now? This is the bit where I light up! All these silly little things eh? But, it was fine, just a bit wierd.
Day TWO!!!: It's official, I'm now on day... - No Smoking Day
Day TWO!!!
Well done you - day 2 is a big milestone I think. Stopping for the day is one thing, but into day 2 and it must be serious! and I recognise the weird bit - I think all us us must feel that. Just carry on doing what you've been doing this morning and then it'll be day 3, then nearly a week and so on.
If you were able to stand on the steps outside the weather must be better than here - grey, raining, generally miserable..... and 17 days ago I would have been out there shivering and trying to light up. (Good weather for giving up I'm thinking).
Pouring with rain here, but there's a canopy over the entrance- I would light up then stagger through the rain shielding my fag from the wet! today I just pulled my collar up and made straight for the sandwich shop! And jeez, my lunch break seems to be lasting forever! I'[d usually pack at least 2 smokes in, but today I've sat at my desk surfing the web watching the rain through the window- as opposed to standing in it smoking!
Not out of the woods yet, but definitely getting there.
hi Deedeebel
Great going on getting to day 2 !! Its a fab achievement...this is only the start of your quit and you should feel proud on getting here .
Quitting is a process, not an event and you should keep this quit precious...to do that you will have to let go of all the little things you told yourself before about smoking .
Funny you laugh about them standing in the rain but the truth is smokers will always find a way to justify their addcition .
Have a read at this whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Nicod...
we have ready made excuses for smoking yet all of them are lies to ourselves.
Keep up the goodwork and lets see you through to day 3
Way to go on day 2, it's my day 2 also! Congrats to us!!!! Hope you have a great day!
Mic.
Congrats on this. whether you are day 1, 2.. day 22.. or beyond.. what matters most is you are not smoking. keep with the game plan, and good luck.
As daunting as quitting may seem in the earliest day of your quit, always know that this is a wonderful thing you are doing, and don't forget to be proud every single day of your success.
Good luck and i hope you do this.
Thanks all of you, it's good to have a support- fellow fighters! The weekend is looming, but I'm off to see my (non-smoking) sister tomorrow and we're going out for dinner- it will be a novelty not to keep dashing outside (brrr) rudely for a smoke and mumbling apologies on my return! I can enjoy a meal without spending the entire time worrying about when I can fit a fag in. It will be a strange experience for me. I spend (or spent...) so much of my time worrying about when and where I could have my NEXT smoke- even after just putting one out, I'd already be thinking about the next one. Bonkers. So, roll on the weekend, just got to stay strong!
deedee. Recognise that one, lovely warm places and fetching a coat to stand outside! What the chuff is that all about  definitely pleased to not be doing that any more and I am sure you will be tomorrow too.
