Day two...

Well I gave up (Hopefully for good this time) on Friday night. I was in Ibiza, and had my last cigarette while I was waiting outside the hotel for my airport transfer! It was no better than any of the last ones. I thought I might appreciate my 'last one' a bit more, but no, that didn't happen! I was gutted... lol...

Yesterday was ok actually, I had a few cans of cider and didn't really crave a cigarette at all!

Today has been horrible though! I've just felt like crying all afternoon, which is odd as I haven't cried in about 5 years! I see what they say about getting your taste buds back after 48 hours though - my cider taskes like sh*t tonight! lol...

Hope it gets easier very, very soon! :)

Matt

Hi Matt,

Congratulations on your quit, especially when your last fag was actually ON holiday!

Hang in there Matt, it does get a lot easier after the 3 days.

Stay quit .. and use the money you save to go back on holiday next time.. holidays are so much better when you have afforded them with money you would otherwise have wasted and gone up in smoke.

Good luck on this.. stay forever strong.. and keep a focus on what you want in the way of good health, money and well being.. and don't let the addiction nag you .

Thanks for the welcome guys! :)

I found today a lot easier than yesterday, but that was probably because I was at work! Sunday was hard as I had to think of things to do, and there's only so much you can do when you're skint from a holiday.

Hoping the rest of the days will be as easy, but I'm not holiding my breath...

Well, keeping yourself busy is often harder than you think, but i know my house here has been tidier than its ever been for ages since i quit. Theres no shame in being over tidy.. just creating a routine of things to occupy yourself is a good thing at the moment.

Going for a walk helps. just clears the air a bit, gets your heart pumping more etc.

10 sit ups or pressups is never a bad thing either if you get a craving.. push it to 20 if you can..

Exercise is good.

Fruit juice is another excellent aid during your first week, i drank a load of it.. orange juice, pineapple, mango.. mmm Now i aint a fruit juice drinker really, but i like it now, it does you good!

Well it's still going ok after 4 days! :)

I do a fair bit of excercise as I have a little gym in my spare room! 20 sit ups is easy! Hehe... :p

Walks are a good idea though, I've been on a few of those since Friday!

There were a few moments where I forgot I didnt smoke today, and got up to go for a fag, and that wasn't very nice, but other than that it's going really well! Hope it will continue to be this easy! Well, relatively easy! Still miss it!

lol, what was that all about..?

I was on day 7 when I gave in. I went out with my now ex girlfriend, and she'd smoked during the day (she was giving up at the same time) and had one left and asked if I wanted to share it. I wasn't even that bothered, but I just agreed, and it all started again from there...

Went to the docs this morning though, and I'm now on NRT, and haven't smoked at all today, so that's one day down! Pretty sure I'll do it this time, but who knows... :)
