Sorry you're feeling down. 'Fraid I can't offer any sensible advice about the funny taste and acid. That's new to me but the body does react in strange ways to quitting.
I've definitely had a funny metalic taste in my mouth, but I've put that down to the Champix. Good that your not craving a cigarette though.
(Maybe it's a virtual hangover from our over-indulgence yesterday )
Hope someone else will pop in and be able to give you a bit more advice on this.
I wonder if this is a side effect of stopping Champix?? Take an antacid and see if that calms the stomach.
I must admit I went to bed last night laughing and joking and woke up the she devil in a foul mood. I've just bought the office cakes to celebrate 4 weeks of non smoking and to apologise for my ups and downs and I now feel better (it's the sugar!!).
I don't like this 'down' thing, it's not me and I struggle to cope with it. In fairness I am a hard faced non emotional woman normally but I blame the Champix, so I was wondering Jack if coming off it has given you withdrawal symptoms?? Chin up my love, eat a cake.
The acid/heartburn and bad taste in the mouth are normal for some of us quitters although happily i never had either but they like the other things don't last long
If you're worried have a word with your Doc though
I've had a weird taste in my mouth the last couple of days too - no idea if it's anything to do with stopping smoking or not, and my tummy's felt a bit dodgy too - and I'm not even on Champix! So it's either perfectly normal or there's a bug going round and we've both got it!
Christine - the cakes for work seem like a great idea, I just apologised to everyone who was in the tea room at break time in case I've inadvertently been a bitch over the last month...no one actually came out and SAID I had, but cakes might soften up anyone I missed!
