Well I've reached the 6 month mark and and so proud of myself.

Ran the 10K for cancer research and raised a fair bit of cash for it. I could not have ran 10 feet as a smoker.

Quick note for all those starting their quit, Never doubt your decision to quit. It has been the best thing I've ever done. There has been loads of hard times along the way and many failed quits, but I do feel this quit is the one .

:D:D:D

have a great smoke free day all.

Nearly cried when I read your post (and I'm not an emotional woman either), you are truly an inspiration and well done on your run.

My 1st goal has always been 6 months, bring it on.

Well done

xx Christine

Hi Christine and thanks for your kind words. A massive well done with your quit and keep it going, each day you WILL get stronger and stronger.

I too quit with Champix after a second time using it. I found it a great aid for me and this forum helped me immensely in the early stages of my quit.

Keep focused on why you wanted to quit and watch out for complacency.

You can do this and will do this. Good Luck!!:D

Congrats Bob - awesome achievement in the 10k run, goes to show the changes your body goes through doesn't it?

I remember during training for the 100 mile bike ride I did.... the improvements just seemed to happen so fast after quitting.

Well done again :D

Congrats Bob

6 months, coming along behind you.

10k well done, see you at the next Great North then? If you haven't had a look already check out runner's world - a new obsession. Or should I say a new addiction.

Congrats once again.
