Hi All,
I read from:

that the best way to stop smoking is to take all the reasons why you smoke from positive to negative.
Just wonder if this technique has worked for any one?

Best advice I can give is everyone's quit is different. The key is you have to be ready and want to really want too. It's tough as hell but worth it. I've got 53 days under my belt so far and have tried seriously to quit 1 or 2 times before. The difference from this quit and the other two is that the other two I thought quiting was the right thing to do and I should. This time I wanted to quit, I wanted to show my son that I could do it so he would never think it was ok cause the ole man did it.
I used the gum for a couple of days, maybe 5 or 6 pieces but I didn't like the strange high they gave me. For the most part I went cold turkey and that works for me. Many on the site try different kinds of ways to quit and I'm sure they will chime in soon. whatever works for you. Goodluck and sorry I couldn't have helped more.
Peace
take it easy.

YOU CAN DO IT
hi matt, good to see more and more people turning up on here.
personally i chose champix and found it worked brilliantly for me. i was on them for 8 days then on saturday i didn't smoke at all and haven't done since.
there are side effects (as with any medication), like for example the fact that i keep waking up at stupid hours of the night, but the possibility of increasing my life expectancy makes it worth while..
a list of pro's and con's can only help, you can guarantee the con's outweigh the pro's. also contact your local gp stop smoking service, they can help you choose what to use..
good luck and i hope you have a succesful quit...
keep us posted!!!

The best method is a persons will power, that's it. If someone does not want to give up they will not.
For the record there is not an easy way to give up, different things work for different people. Champix does have good stats but it is down to the person and their will power.
