Im kinda new here, well i have been reading some posts but just never posted myself! I thought tonight would be a good point to start as im just into week 2 and going a little nuts!!
Im quitting using Champix and it really is great! The only side effects i have had so far are a little nausea which passes pretty quickly!
So far I havnt had any really bad cravings, although this weekend has been hard i havnt been at a point were i would of seriously had one, even though i toyed with the idea just to humour my inner demon!
I have had really bad chest pains though since i stopped, is this normal? I havnt found any info but the nurse didnt seem too concerned when i mentioned it!
Well onwards to day 8 i guess!
Oh by the way im Chris, smoked 15ish a day since i was 15 ive just gone 28 now

Welcome to the forum, Chris, and well done on your first week smoke free! Going a little nuts is normal, no worries, okay! Life will get back to normal, so you keep pushing through those first stages of your quit.

I didn't experience chest pains but side effects of quitting smoking have a wide range......... googled it and tons of info came up, this being one....... hope it helps.
"Physical Withdrawal Symptoms
When a person quits smoking the change (be it instantaneous or gradual) in nicotine levels causes a sudden uproar in the physique. He is likely to suffer from sickness. He may face constant fatigue, headache and also find difficulty in concentrating. In case of aggressive smokers the complications may be still severe as they may experience depression to unbearable chest pain and severe digestion problems."
The uncomfortable side effects all pass in time........ stay with your quit, okay!
I also used champix and found it a huge help the nausea will pass
The chest pain is also normal but if it bothers you to much get it checked out by the Dr just to set your mind at rest
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Well its the back end of day 8 now and i feel great! I havnt really thought about it all day and not had a craving at all!
I went to the Gym tonight after work and impressed myself of how much my stamina has increased, also my chest pains seem to have disappeared for now. (Although they tend to come and go so not holding my breath)
I also think the last of the gunge is coming out of me as i can breath a bit better and i dont see to have that hacking sound anymore when i breath out fast or cough!
I really hope I can keep this up as i really think this time is the time im going to quit. I'll be going out at the weekend, i guess it will be the big test as last weekend i mostly stayed in and when i was out i was around non smokers!
Im also a bit worried that all this is down to just the champix and it really isnt my will power doing it, id like to think that a big part of this was down to me but the champix is so damn good i think it might be mainly responsable for my quiting...! Hope i can do without it when the time comes!
