Well done on day 3 and pleased to hear that you're excited about your quit

Just hang in there you're doing fine

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Well done on day 3, before u know it u will be a whole week. u sound really up for it and once the weekend is over i know u will b finding it easier.

Hi Guys,

Bev, I think I sound up for it... but Im well and truly terrified about the weekend... so far I have had work to distract me so thats anything up until 7pm for me not to have to worry about and then I go to bed really early so I have about two hours of the evening to think about smoking (or not smoking)...

This weekend I just see hours and hours stretching before me... Not smoking...

I know that sounds dramatic... but I think I need some help!!! x

read, read, read that will help i promise and just get through each day by choosing not to smoke for 1 hour and then choosing not to smoke for the next hour.

could u maybe promise yourself a treat on sunday night, chocolate, bath, a whole night watching your fave tv, or playing your fave games?

we are all here for you and you know u don't want to go through the last few days again, hang on in there, we know u can do it.

Here's some positive mental attitude for you.:D:D:D

it could be that u r suffering from the famous dreaded 3's today.

sorry if the hour by hour thing freaked u out it is just a way of getting through the really tough times.

of course i can't tell u when u will feel better because we r all different. on my 1st quit it took about a week before i could say i began to feel better this time something clicked for me a couple of days ago and i feel great and i mean GREAT.

Sorry i can't remember if u r doing this CT or using something, but if you r CT then the nicotine will be out of your system at the end of day 3, so there is a positive to hang on to.

where u r can u see a window? if u can just look at that wonderful sunshine and picture yourself enjoying it without wondering if u have enough fags for the day, or worrying what that last fag u had did to your lungs, you r now a non smoker.

3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks and 3 months these times seem to trigger something strong in some people, not all people get it but if u have a look around the forum there are plenty who do.

Glad your feeling a bit better, keep posting and reading,

i have got to go soon, i'm going to my kids school to listen to small people read stories.

i will try to come back tonight and see how ur going.

Im really hating day 3!!! As in.... RRAAHHHHHHH.... talking myself into smoking and all sorts...

Working through scenarios where I have a cigarette and everything!!!

Eeeekkkkk..... I wanna be put to sleep until say, day five?? Is it safe to wake up then?

Sorry today has turned a bit rough for you but get today out of the way could be just day three but as you're going CT by tonight all the nicotene will be out of your system for good just hang in there it really does get easier Promise

Just do whatever it takes to get through today yell, scream talk to yourself whatever it doesn't matter what you do as long as you get through as well as drinking water or fruit juice take a nap if you can it often helps I used to do that a lot early in my quit even 10 - 20 mins is a help
