Oh so many but every one makes me happy to list because I DON'T DO IT ANYMORE

1) I like smelling of nice perfume

2) I hate the slavery

3) I am so embarrased doing it in front of people

4) people never used to stand close to me when I was speaking because my breath stunk foul, I could see them moving back and it wasn't paranoia!

5) Time - I work in a school and at lunchtime I had to get off site to have a fag, I'd spend my 45 minutes driving out of the way so no-one could see me and getting at least four fags in before I went back to work without eating!!

6) I hated doing it in the street, I'd look like a real scum bag.

7) I've had an inferiority complex all my life so it's important for me to look nice and feel pretty, a fag was never a good fashion accessory.

8) I hated it when members of my family (the non smokers) would stay to long, I couldn't wait for them to bugger off so I could have a smoke. They are the centre of my world and I hated myself for choosing a fag over time with them.

9) I stunk all the time!

10) I never used to smile those big life loving smiles because my teeth were minging.

11) I dreaded having those amazing belly laughs that brought tears to my eyes because it would be punctuated with great hacking coughs.

12) (gross one but important) I hated having loads of blackheads on my face that I was CONSTANTly picking at. I felt dirty all the time.

13) But above all of these I hated going to bed EVERY night with the promise that I would stop tomorrow and praying or pleading to my guardian angeles, god, in the name of everything holy that I would do it and that cancer wasn't already growing in my lungs. 10 minutes after rising I would be on the doorstep getting at least 3 in before I went to work!

Enjoy being gorgeous, enjoy the laughter, enjoy your loved ones, enjoy the sunshine and the smell of flowers, enjoy your freedom.

Be proud of your achievements, your appearance, but mostly yourself, you are amazing and have given yourself the best present you could ever give yourself just for being amazing!!!

That's a fantastic list of so many positives to not smoke. Well done you.

My boss keeps telling me hnow well I look since I stopped smoking. I don't notice it but she says I quite often looked poorly & I now have colour in my face.

Can't be bad hey?

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK
