No Smoking Day

before you start

many smokers fail to quit before they"ve even stated

because their frame of mind is such that they are all disheartened

they"re very good at thinking of every possible obstacle in the way

andenvisage clearly in their mind how long and tedious will be the day

each minute will take hours, each hour will take years

so much time at their disposal to pounder on all there fears

how could they possibly stop smoking, they"re beat before they start

and yet, should it really be that difficylt to have a change of heart

to not smoke any minute, any hour of the day

is so very, very ease if you look at it in a different way

but the smokers mind has fixed the meter at impossibil, maybe higher

and they"d probable say right to me that i was a downright liar

if i said its simple, dont overcomplisate the matter

remove from your mind all that constant, busy chatter

that constant, busy chatter which is rubbish,i"m being kind

and not smoking is so simple,i"msure that you will find

just some thing i found,,hope it helps some one, keep the faith and keep :D:D:D

Hi Tony - I like that!

It is so true that quitting is all a state of mind. I knew I'd be successful this time because I began my quit in a completely different state of mind than I'd been when attempting to quit before.

CJM - you will soon feel that you are so glad you don't smoke. I can't remember exactly when I started to get that feeling but I know now (4 months later) that I love being a non-smoker. I will never smoke again!

I can relate to the first verse.

I keep wondering will I ever reach the stage of being glad I don't smoke rather than constantly thinking of smoking.

One day (quite soon) you'll be doing something enjoyable and think wow, when I smoked I would have had to stop doing this and take time out to feed my addiction. You'll start to notice all those times when you would have had to have your fix, when it was inconvenient but you did so in order to function properly. I promise, you will be glad that you are no longer dependant and have taken back control over your life ;)

That is what I am experiancing now (4 months in) and I feel SO good! I feed that feeling, make myself aware of every situation like this and give myself credit!
