Worse than yesterday.

I'm now over halfway through Day 2 of no smoking, definitely rougher than yesterday, also had a bad night with hardly any sleep.

I'm feeling ok but it is the constant longing for a cigarette which is getting me - I haven't given way to the longing, but sometimes I find it very hard and I start to wonder if it will always be like this :(

Hey Must-Stop,

Welcome to the forum. It's not unusual to find your sleeping patterns shaken up in the early days of a quit.

What method are you using to quit? Maybe it's just a little of reading around that you need to do. A lot of the quitters here have adopted the 'Read, Read, Read' (â„¢TKDJohn) method and seek to educate themselves through their quit. We've had people getting their initial quit off the ground in various ways, but through the process visiting the sites shown below.

Keep on keepin' on,

Hey, Must-Stop, Congrads on your 2nd day. It will get better! Honest! Just take it one day at a time and read, read, read! The more you know, the better and the easier it is.

Quit: Jan. 18, 2009

Method: CT

Must-stop!

Congratulations on your second day. You will make it to your third, not without some struggle, but you will make it. Try taking some deep breaths and think that in only a few more days you will be able to smell and taste food again. I am not kidding. The pay off will be fantastic. I started smelling scents from childhood only to realize that they had been there since childhood but I had forgotten since I hadn't truly smelled grass or the rain since I was fifteen.

Yes, it is rough. Crazy dreams and night sweats and irritability and discomfort in your own skin. But keep reading like everyone suggested. Remember why you decided to quit and write down the reasons. And keep on coming back.

Jan wrote a great post about saving her money and going out with her boyfriend and enjoying a wonderful day. Give yourself small goals like that, you will be fine.
