Feeling better than yesterday...

Good morning everyone...

Well I am 10 hrs into day 3... (I stopped at midnight Saturday 9th June)...

Now you are all thinking that most of the last 10 hrs have been spent asleep, however I was working late until 2:30 am and then after 4.5 hours sleep I was up at 7:00 am.

And I have to say I feel sooooo alive...

I have been to McDonalds and have indulged in a Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin meal, and while standing at the counter I had a deep breath and a feeling of such a wonderful summer's day came over me, and what made it even better than normal was the no-smoking. This was the first time in the last 2.5 days that I felt like a non-smoker and it has just inspired me to keep moving forward.

Now I have to say, this forum is probably the reason why I am being more successful than usual. Its a place where I can write my experiences and feelings, I think this forum gives you a feeling of being part of a community.

Now something else that I have found that helps is listening to country105.com

It's a radio station in Canada and I have found it quite soothing (Its a different life style in Canada, a bit more slow paced and relaxed than us brits). :)

Anyhow, time to do some work for a living...

Think almost anywhere is more slow paced and relaxed than UK!

Glad you enjoyed your breakers :) It is so sweet that first real realisation of 'non smokingdom' congrats on that x

2:30am still working ouch! and up at 7am 4.5 hours sleep!! really, sure it is so much better now it is smoke free but we function at our best if we sleep no less than 6hours and no more than 8! it's a good rule.

Don't work to hard your not much use to anyone a little frizzled heap at the end of the day :D

Hi

I am half hour behind you. I gave up at 12.30am sunday morning.

I have been quit for 2 Days, 16 hours, 32 minutes and 20 seconds (2 days). I have saved £1.87 by not smoking 53 cigarettes. I have saved 4 hours and 25 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 10/06/2007 00:30

I am finding it really tough. Glad you are feeling better than yesterday and good luck.

Hi Barb,

So only 30 minutes difference between us... How cool is that...

Although my day started of well it soon feel apart, got to about lunch time and I was ready to fold up my business and tell everyone to clear off.

However since then I have managed to get a grip on myself, although its lucky that I didn't have a secret stash anywhere or I'd have been puffing like Thomas the Tank Engine...

However I was talking to my business partner and without realizing I have drunk 8 large mugs of black coffee (9 if you count the one at McDonalds). I don't normally drink coffee, I normally drink real Coca Cola. However I use to enjoy a Can of Coke with a cigarette, now this is where I think my day started to go wrong. Basically at lunch time i stopped the coffee and had a Can of Pepsi and a bottle of Coke through the afternoon. Now I reckon my stupid brain started to think "oh coca cola, where's the ciggy!!!".

Needless to say I am back on the coffee and feeling better (Kidney stones here we come).

I think what I am trying to say and it probably comes up quite alot, but I am finding by changing my daily routine it seems to ease the cravings.

Indeed your routines will change with the non smoking!

But this no sleeping, working, caffeine and stress is going to burn you out!!

That routine change should really involve rewards that look after you! as a good business man, with obvious self discipline, you work from home! that is good discipline! :p , can you not give yourself a 'stop working' deadline?! get to bed and be sure to spend some time relaxing and pleasing yourself?!

Anything thats not smoking is cool, so if working and caffeines working right now so be it, just it isn't exactly what i would call 'self indulgence'.

Take care and stay strong, Buffy x x
