Day 3 has been the toughest thus far. I have been chewing gum and drinking water. I really want to do this for myself and my family. My father never saw our beautiful wedding and his beautiful grand daughters Aliza and Annalise.

Thanks Shabba, I appreciate that...Let me run this by you. I have been known to puff the sticky stuff as well. I did it last night as a craving for a cig hit me but it felt so weird. I think I may ease up on that as well...
yeh-you need to stop that too -it will just maintain the craving, i have stopped for nearly 5 months now, i had the gum for the first 3 months which helped then went CT
cravings dont kill-smoking does-i choose the craves every time xxx
Thanks Shabs...
Hello cmd227, welcome to the forum. You have a very important reason to quit smoking, obviously you want to be around to see your own grandchildren. You should definitley stick around because the rest of these guys are full of good advice and support whenever you should need it!
You seem to be a mirror image of me; day three and drinking the water and chewing the gum! It's working wonders for me. Well done for getting here, it may get tough for a while now, but we gotta stick together, man!
You say you smoke the sticky stuff; do you smoke it pure or with tobacco? If it's with tobacco then i only have one thing to say: YOU NEED TO GIVE THAT UP TOO. You're only cheating yourself otherwise, and that nicotine will never leave your body entirely, you will never completely get over the addiction. If you smoke it pure however... crack on! I'm not sure how it affects quitting though, so don't quote me on that.... I'm gonna make some brownies at some point soon
Anyways, I may have rambled on a bit, or stepped out of line, but it's success with your quit I'm concerned with! Stay strong, mate.

Couldn't agree more. Give the sticky stuff up mate! Hate to stand on my soap box here, but chuddy is absolutely right! If you don't kick the weed chances are you wont kick the fags.
