Hi all, hope this finds you well and kicking!!

Well, am 11 weeks into my quit, and the truth which I didn't believe 11 weeks ago, is that it's getting easier with every day!!

I'm loving being an ex smoker despite the odd super craving feeling, no way can I give in, no way!

I've felt a bit sad though for all the years I smoked. I look at the hideous lines around my mouth and chin, the stained teeth and all the skin damage, and I just feel so f***ing sad. I can only imagine what it's like inside my body!!

Anyway, enough of that!! I've taken to doing a short run every other day and some exercises every day, it feels good being able to breathe during and recover more quickly after. I do however, have a cough which I didn't expect! I'm using e cig very infrequently now, although sometimes it's attached to me depending on the situation. I've found if I get liquid I don't like the taste of, I'm less inclined to reach for it...

It's such an amazing feeling here, as always, thanks so so much for the support and sharing. You're all incredible!

Happy Sunday all, be strong.

Bests Jo ❤️

Hey Jo, wayhey 11 weeks! I did promise ya it would get easier :)

It is perfectly normal to feel and think about the damage done but very important not to let it take over as it is Mr Nico desperately trying to get you back, yes there has been alot of damage done from smoking but don't underestimate how the body can recover over time. I had the coughing and still do from time to time but always took it as a good sign that my body was clearing out, also had the dreaded coughing up of tar in the first few weeks of my quit which I really think kept me determined to never ever go through it again, it was very scary the horrible crap I was coughing up.

When you get off the nicotine in the e-cig you should notice a vast improvement in the recovery especially the cough, but only when you are ready, you are doing so well with it already at 11 weeks. Keep up the great work from sunny midlands Ireland, not as hot but still nice!! 8-)

Glad you said that Jo. All us grizzled old timers keep saying it gets easier but I'm not sure if anybody believes us. it seems like it is never going to do so in the early stages so I'm glad you've turned the corner.

Don't worry about the cough. It's just your lungs cleaning out the remnants of the crap that's still in there. I got that, especially after a run. It will go in a few weeks.

Congratulations from sunny South Shields. I have burned my head today. My ears are crispy.

Skin heals too. Remember that when people run away. And teeth, mine are clearing up. Soon they'll be so white I'll have to wear shades. Stay quit, stay human. :)

Good read Jo, Thank you ..Well done on 11 weeks...Super....We did ourselves so much harm and only recognise it once we get over the addiction...After 2 years I found that some days jogging is difficult..I cannot get rythm in my breathing and feels like I have got a ton of lead in my A.....! The next day is a breeze !!! and 5km is easy..!

Self forgiveness is still very far away and suffering whilst practicing I tell myself over and over: yes, suffer it is, due to your own doing...!! but even that is getting better...!!

Looked into buying myself and the wife nice mountain bikes... all the roads on the farm ads up to 120 km..If I can do 20 km an hour in the beginnig, I think it is fair..!! and do a different part every day..!! not so boring like jogging..!

Get the bikes! I loved biking and once I can afford a new bike I'd like to get back into it with the boy...

You're a continuous inspiration and support, priceless my friend. Thank you 😊
