Before I stopped smoking my average blood pressure readings over 6 months were 140/78
I quit nine days ago and my daily readings are 178/98
Ergo sum....quit smoking and risk a heart attack.
Once again I rang the NHS Smoking hotline and was politely informed by the young lady in a call centre ( India probably) that they cant really answer specific questions as they have no experience. Whilst she was on the phone I asked her if she could help me change the washer on my bathroom tap....maybe that was her field of expertise ?
I am seriously thinking of going back to 40 Marlboro a day just out of interest to see if it brings my blood pressure down !!
To be candid I am getting a little pissed of with the lack of REAL information regarding smoking.
The only thing I know for certain is that Gordon Brown takes at least 70% in tax on a packet of fags....my true motivation for quitting.
