I am a 1 year pluser, but I was wondering at this point what does everyone think is the hardest thing to deal with or greatest struggle? Keep going strong!!

hi there

i have been quit 7 and a half months. i cant honestly put 'one thing' on what was the hardest. the worst thing, i think is thinking about it 24/7. Now i still think about it, but it is with excitement that i have got this far. i would b interested what everyone else has to say on the matter. OH i just thought , so******ing was a bit difficult but i never once considered having one.;)

Hi grinfire, I remember you from way back when! Great that you're doing so well. Personally, smoking was a 'support' in many aspects of life and I've had to learn to deal with life without that 'false support'! Keep it going!:D

Great work Steve

Hi Steve,

Good to see that you are still doing so well!

Keep up the good work.

You and I both used smoking as a crutch or aid in life.

Even after 6 months I still find myself fleetingly thinking that there is a dimension missing from my life... but only very fleetingly!! Then I smell someone who's just been out for a fag and I know why I gave up! Also being able to keep up with the warm up in my Kickboxing class without passing out is a real bonus!!:D

It is so good to see long term quitters and know we can get there too. For me the hardest has been the actual decision to quit.

Hi,

Hi,

To Sweetanimo - Catmagpie,

Sweet, it seems like losing a friend in my opinion gone for a good reason though, It is great thing that you find them nasty- best way to know you won't go back.

Cat, You will be in the long timers before you know it. It might have been a hard decision but the best one you have ever made.

GREAT JOB!!!!

Hi Grinfire, well done on lasting over a year. I'm currently pretty much bang on 8 months.

Without a doubt the hardest thing for me was that for the first 4 months or so I was very stressy and anxious. That's behind me now, but I still I feel that I'm more serious, less sociable and more grumpy than I was before.

Hi Grinfire

I remember you from my quit last year great to see your still smoke free. I think the thinking is the worse and the fag you think you should have after Doing things. (the reward fag). Linda xxxxxxx

Hello

Iain for me the I couldn't sleep well again for like 3 months, Until all the nicotine was out of me. It was like I was wired and wide awake for a long time. It passes, I found it best to try and not fight it, even if I was tired I would sit up and read. Find somthing to do if you can't sleep - drink lots of water to help clean out your system- best of luck

Hey linda

How are you? I thought of that a lot myself but I always say not even 1 puff!!

Dickyboy-

I Know what you mean about being short, its part of the process being moody. Honestly after helping a few other friends with quitting. We found that the moods and problems were always there but masked by the smoking. The other thing is when you quit you have major chemical changes in your brain. You may need to ask a doctor if it is a serious problem

Good luck and my best to all

Hi

Hello again,

One thing I forgot, and you should always ask a doctor before trying drugs. With that said I used sleeping pills the non addictive and nonperscription strength for a bout a week every other night. Just to get by or if I needed sleep or strength for something. Again only if I needed to, but if you read the box or ask a doctor you should be fine.
