Hello everyone. My name is Tracy and today is my first day of not smoking! Have tried (and failed) in the past but am determined this time! I am suffering a craving right now but the good thing is I have no cigarettes in the house and my partner doesn't smoke!! I have eaten everything in sight today though lol.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Very well done on making the decision, most of us have tried befor and you'll get loads of quality support here.

The 1st few days are the toughest but hang in there its all worth it in the end.

The best idea is to read and educate yourself about the addiction and what to expect during withdrawal.

I'd suggest that you check out these websites

whyquit.com/

woofmang.com/tales/index.shtml

quitsmokingonline.com/

Staying quit is a bit of a mind game. If you can change the way you think of smoking it helps loads, you need to try to regard quitting as gaining a better lifestyle rather than sacrificing something and not see cigs as some kind of forbidden fruit.

All the best

Nic

What they said ^^^

Education really is key to this thing. Get your head in the right place, find that one piece that finishes the jigsaw and it really is very doable.

Well done on the decision and keep us up to date :)

I also looked up the "Electronic Cigarette" as I had never heard if it!! How did you find it?

Thanks KittyCat and Tony!! I am on day 5 of my quit now and things going great, hardly think about cigarettes but still have the odd moment - especially after a meal - where i would kill for one....here are my stats...

Tracy - Free and Healing for Five Days, 7 Hours and 25 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 5 Hours, by avoiding the use of 64 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £18.42.

As for "nicotine delivery devices"......LMAO :D
